Well, today a guy at work followed me home to take a look at things, he drives a Evo 3 and best official result is 10.81, and I think thats pretty good for someone who does everything by trial and error with a non-exicisting budget! Anyway, found out that the heatexchanger should go underneath on the Magnum, so thats sorted tonight, got some plumming done although not all but it feels like there is more room this way! Got the powersteering pulley sorted, started looking for vaccumhoses to cut and where they all should go. Also had a look at the guages and I think I´ll might pull it off! Things look and feel pretty good at the moment although there is a few hours to go... Now just taking the time to wright this and enjoing a beer in the garage before hitting the pillow. Over and out! Fredrik:miner:
Well, back on track, finnished up all the vaccum and water hoses, all mecanical stuff is in place! All I need to do next is fill up with water, check oil levels and, uhum, mount the guages and connect the Predator. Tomorrow is a day off from wrenching as I have a navigationclass and staying the night in town, but hopefully thursday night it will all be done! Maybe a bit optimistic but hey, what could possibly go wrong??? lol Took some pictures with Ulricas cell, I have no clue of how to transfer them to the computor so pics will have to wait. Now just enjoying a beer and the stillness of the house while the rest of the family is sound asleep. Fredrik PS. Thank you Kris (SRT8U) for the much needed info on the vaccum hoses!
Good deal man, hope the rest goes smooth. For the pics, email them to yourself from phone, then in your reply task bar, you see a paper clip...click that and upload from your computer, close window after upload, and post. See below? :gotpics:
I´ll post the pics as soon as she gets home, unless that happens in the middle of the night, party with her staff and as she´s the boss... Fredrik
Sorry about the pics but Ulrica and I haven´t been at home at the same time for about a week... Everything is in place under the hood, guages and software still to go, tried to download the software with the Predator but it said the car needs an update, and that´s probably due to me running on European code and not US. Got a link from the Predator to Diablosport so that will probably sort it. If it doesn´t I can get it reprogrammed during next week. Guages will as it looks be installed during the weekend, if that happens and the link from Diablosport works it´ll be done this weekend, not a second to soon as Ulrica is starting to bitch about driving the Volvo and not the SRT... Fredrik:grin:
Well, you´ll probably ban me for not having uploaded any pics yet but the car is now finally at the local shop for mounting of the guages and a update of the computer to be able to install the Vortech software. Software, the story of my life with this car! The main trouble when getting it registerd and here we go again, but with a bit of luck (ie the tuner has time for my car) it´ll be up and running by the weekend, can´t wait! Won´t match the burnouts seen elsewhere on the forum but I´ll make something different... Fredrik:grin:
Never mind the pics... However, just got back from the garage and have finally installed the software, needed an update and had to find a cable running from USB to "whateveritscalled 9-pig connection" and finally got around to doing so. Got the update and installed the tuner program, started her up and "Check engine", "Throttlebodycontrol" and "ESP" was luminated but not flashing. Let it idle for about a minute and turned her off, waited 30 sec or so and started her again, "Check engine" still luminated and it smelled like she ran really rich, ran sweetly apart from that. Will try and install the AFR tomorrow and fuelpressure tomorrow and if that works I´m back in the drivers seat again!!!:dancinlock: Anybody got an idea about the "check engine" light? Fredrik:thanks:
Fredrik, make sure you actually installed the Vortech tune, you may have only updated, and not actually loaded the tune. Most times when people have those codes at startup it is due to not loading the tune correctly, I would try to uninstall and reinstall the tune. You should not have any codes at startup. Also check the codes via the Diablo to see what codes were actually showing up.
Will do, thanks Kris! But that will have to wait until tomorrow, have to get up for work in 4 hours... Crazy to get up at 02.00 to get to work, but its just for the next three days, friday is probably off and just 3 1/2 days next week, then summer VACATION!!! Fredrik:zorro:
Well, being at work before the strippclubs even open has the advantage that you get off really early! Got home, realized on the way home that I am fat and lazy so I went for a jog. Quick shower and headed to the garage, and guess what, Kris was absolutly right! Big surprise, NOT!!! The Predator contained two different tunes accept my stock, called Sam and Mikey at BMC and BOOOOM, I was up and running! No guages yet but asked if it would be okay to take it for a short testdrive without punnishing it to hard. -If you don´t have any codes you should be fine! So I pulled out, nice and easy, letting the fluids come up to temperature and feel and listen carefully, no strange sounds or codes, running sweetly and quiet. Eventually stopped at a deserted bit of road, perfectly straight, wide, smooth asphalt and nothing but fields on the sides. Turned the ESP off and hammerd it! Stock it would spinn the tires for about 10 meters and then grip, now it just howled, hit second and keept it at 6.000 rpm, after about 100 meters I decided I had enough, still spinning the tires like crazy but was starting to go sideways and remembering I still have the open diff I let off! Ohmyme, damn it feels fast! Pulls like a train, Ulrica took it for a short test and came back complaing about the blower whining and puffing, well, what can I say? But she did approve of the perfomance though!:bigwink: Tomorrow guages will go in and then we can start using the car, will also book date to install the Quaife, that is prio one! Big thank you to BMC for helping me out, first getting my order on short notice and repacking everything so I could get it home, then answering more or less stupid questions via PM or phone, exellent stuff! The only thing I missed was to meet Lisa and Preston, but the little guy wasn´t very old when we were in Florida. Fredrik - a happy guy enjoying a beer after a superday!
