Aside from the -30 degree ambient temps, constant wind and no air, there are some beautiful areas out here. I took these a month ago while zipping around in my wife's car. This is just a mile out of town and two miles from my house. Not too far off this way is the Flaming Gorge Reservoir and it is 70 miles of beautiful scenery and up to 400 foot deep water. Can you say 50 lb. lake trout? Wife's silly car (it's actually an awesome vehicle) Highway 530 down the hill into Green River All in all it is an awesome place to raise a family.
Beautiful country there...I was in Wyoming back in 1988 on my way to Idaho....spent the night in Jackson Hole.....cant remember much about that night..
Ooohh!!! Pretty pictures! It looks cold! Guess that makes a good incentive to vacation in warm places!
Wow Jon, very scenic, but screw the snow and cold...i can wear shorts 8 months of the year. I've never been to Wyoming, looks cool though.(pun intended)
Well, i never said it was nice, or scenic...but we have pretty decent weather for the most part...besides fucking hurricanes, mosquito's, and emission testing...South Louisiana is a nice place to call home.
-30*......that's insane. I'd have to buy a whole new wardrobe just to visit there. I dont own a single piece of cold weather gear except the stuff my job issues me...
LOL. You should have seen the cold weather gear we were issued Darren...you can imagine I am sure. You couldn't have gotten your gloves off much less any piece of equipment to do damage to anyone...lol Then again, nobody cared because you couldn't see 3 feet in front of your face because of the snow While -30 isn't the norm...it isn't unusual to have weeks where you don't get above 0. The summers are hot but short...truly a HUGE swing in temps every year.
I bet. And my idea of cold weather gear is a snowboard type jacket w/ our patches on it. And I actually use it maybe 2 weeks a year. Never had to consider thermals/long johns/gloves/ski masks/etc lol. And when you say "hot", what kinda temps are we talking? I have a feeling we have very different ideas of "hot" hehe.
