I'm gonna tighten up the Charger's suspension a bit more this year. I already have Hotchkis sways, a rear strut tower brace, and KWV2 coilovers. In a few weeks, I'll be buying Stack's front strut tower brace. And I want some swaybar links as well. But I'm not sure if I want: BWoody $210: http://bwoodyperformance.com/produc...d=140&osCsid=7e627a2e0566e9ebfaea468421c173c5 Stack $550 : http://www.stackperformance.com/sto...nce_Adjustable_End_Link_Kit_FRONT-195-31.html http://www.stackperformance.com/sto...ance_Adjustable_End_Link_Kit_REAR-231-31.html Are the Stack's worth an additional $340??! Will I really tell THAT much of a difference?? What's the benefit of them being adjustable?? I LOVE STACK as a vendor, I want half the shit on their damn website, lol (I'm also buying a CF rear diffuser)!! But if I'm not "tracking" my car, will this make a major difference? The BWoody's seem like a pretty stout upgrade as is. I just need help deciding on this. Thanks gang. :stars:
I've heard great things about the Stack End Links. I have been running the BWoody's for over a year with zero issues.
Ron, did you notice a nice improvement after install of the BWoody's?? Or no?? I REALLY WANNA GO WITH STACK. It'd be different if it was only ~$100 between the two brands. I'm just trying to justify the $340 difference!?!?!?!?
Based on the failures that the Razor's Edge heim joint (the Stacks use heim joints too) end links had, I would go with Bwoody. I don't know anyone who has had a failure with the Bwoody's. I have heard of needing a bushing replaced, but no failure of the metal part.
fatchance, where are you? We don't use cheap/budget heims. These are German heims that are used to hold us to abuse. There will also be no flex from the bushings inside of the OEM and traditional style end links. Ask FatChance how well they worked for him....I have the feeling he's in favor. (only because our end links were the only thing holding his wheel on his car after breaking a KW at the lower mount. If the weight of the car only bent the heim, I doubt you'll have issues. I'll let him step in on this one.
Puttin on my Dave hat...Heim is not a correct description, but is a brand of spherical rod ends owned by Roller Bearing Corp. [RBC] (seen here http://www.rbcbearings.com/rodends-industrial/precision.htm) All spherical rod ends aren't created equal, as you can read from the link. Just because brand X end links with rod ends have failure problems, doesn't mean brand Y's will also...quality of parts will vary. Stack, why didn't yall use ones with grease fitting?
Chase .. I had the Bwoodys with Hotchkis sway combined with razors edge 4pt front and rear strut braces .. the thing handled like a beast!! They did make the car ride a little rougher but then again .. I didnt have coilovers ... I didnt have issues with the bwoodys besides changing a bushing twice .. the adjustable one's make no sense to me .. but Stack makes awesome products .. good luck with your decision!
The primary purpose of adjustable end links is to get rid of preload in the bar. The adjustable links allow the car to take advantage of four corner balancing which you can't do with standard links. Set the ride height and then corner weight the car so it is balanced. Then adjust the link so it goes back in the hole. The suspension is compressed at its natural setting. Now there is no preload on the sway bar. If you didn't have adjustable links you would have preload at 1 or more corners. It's preferable to have none. Then the sway bar only bends when the suspension moves from neutral.
VERY HELPFUL Stack, Kyle, and Nevin.......THANK YOU. Sounds like I'll be going the more expensive route.....like usual......
I know, huh! Why cant, for ONCE, everyone agree that the cheaper part is absolutely the best route to go! My bank acct hates my cars!:stars:
Chase, for what its worth, I just ordered Stacks Sway Bars today. Thanks dude, it's ALL your fault. lol
Right on. I took home a set from SF5:mains: You keeping the Bwoody links, or gettin Stacked on those too?
Shit. All u mofos on here have done NOTHING but spend my $$$ for the last 3 years!!!! So consider this my way of "giving back" lol!!!!
