alright so today i was headed to jersey for hockey and was stuck in some traffic...while in the traffic i noticed that the my temp was going up as i was idleing...so i called anthony and he said ya you want to get a new thermostat....but he said to ask you guys with the jeeps which one is better....he said something about a 170degree or a 180degree.... Which one is better for me? thanks:bye:
IMO, the Jet 180 is the best solution, no CEL, comes with a new gasket, and is accurate. Check Moes performance for a good deal. Talk to Bob, great guy. And above all, get a Predator.
I wish it was that easy. I live just north of Philly, drive my SRT ALL the time, and was fine with the 180 stat until the cold weather set in. Get the check light constantly, I keep a scan tool in the car and am always reseting the damn thing. If your inspection date is in the colder months, you will have to time around the check lights to pass.
I believe the P0128 code comes from the car not coming up to temp (min 176) fast enough once you reach closed loop and in gear. To avoid it, try to let the car warm up to at least 100 degrees before venturing out...Works for me.
Don't hate! You're welcome to move down here any time...High today is 74 and sunny! And actually Erik (Hemi31) said that it works for him to up in N.Y.
I threw the P0128 code only a couple times with my old 170 stat. And no, I do not live in the tropics. lol ABQ averages mid 30's in the winter with occasional temps reaching single digits... Kyle is correct though, let the car warm up to 100* before taking off.
Also drive in autostick for the first few miles and shift at around 3k+...your temps will climb pretty quick. I don't know the exact time frame you need to reach 176, but it takes me under 10 min, and I've never gotten a code like that. And we actually do have a cold spell during the winter that lasts a few months with 30 degree or less temps. It even snowed twice this year...new record!
A veritable ice age... (pssst, it doesn't count if it hits 30* at 2 am and is 45* by the time you leave for work)
For South La., that is an Iceage...We went a 2 week period this year where the temps never got above freezing...Coldest winter ever that i can remember. Bad thing about it, is it put a hurtin on the Crawfish, by now, i'm usually into my third boil...but they are $3.50 a pound now live...1 sack(which feeds about 10 with fixings) will run about $300.00...at the end of the season, they go for $25.00 a sack!
Yea yea yea...I'm southern proud, make fun all you want. Can't touch the food anywhere on Earf! So fuck off Padre!
I go to a golf outing mostly every year with customers in Harvey, LA .. the dinner after the outing consists of like 300 pounds of crawfish .. good eatin
Damn right it is! I'm not a golfer or anything, but next time you come down, hit me up and we can meet somewhere and have a brew ha ha. Harvey is only like 80 miles or so from Baton Rouge. Harvey is a burb of New Orleans (for those that don't know).
definitely .. I dont know if I am going this year yet .. its usually in April, but the last couple years its rained so I think they moved it back ... I usually stay in the french quarter while I'm there and yes, next time I will definitely hit up you and Tim
