    Hey guys,

I just join this forum, and would like some advice on what I need to do to go faster at the drag strip... My mods are posted in my signature; the only change that I've made to my car that is not posted is the tires. I went with the Nitto Invo 275/40R20 in the back and 245/45R20 in front, they look great and work much better at the track. I'm also going to get a CMR tune for my SRT8.

What I want to know is what mod you guys think I need to do next. I would like to take, at least, .20 second of my ET's.

    Thanks,

im no expert...they will come here soon...but i'd say if you went with heads/cam you'd be able to get some time shaved...

torque converter for PPP or one of their cams. Or just slap a bottle of nitrous on there and run low 12's

I was thinking about the torque converter, but if I go with this mod, how will my car drive on the street?

i know many DD's who are running heads and cams...check in with some of our vendors and they will hook you up with a good power adder package that will still have you work as a DD

also, nitrous is good as well because its on demand power so if your keeping your car as a DD...the nitrous might be a good way to go...

do you have a price range?

don't he scared of the nitrous a 100 shot with new plugs and some retarded timing is very safe and alot of power on demand. It took a whole second off my old setup and I never had a problem put maybe 45-50 bottles threw it.

ur better of buying a 426 than a blower. But Scott the owner of gs is a great guy. They did the tuning on my car. I am useing ppps half shafts. Unless ur using drag radials dontnworry about it. How much r u trying to spend?

a stage 2 heads cam with a 426 and nitrous or gs blower should go 10's if u get traction. But it will cost u a arm and a leg

Thanks for the tips John and Stevo, during the summer, with the DA close to 4000, my ET's were 13.3 s, but now with the cold weather (65 degrees) and my 25 cent mod, my ETs have dropped to low 13s, high 12s... I would love to be hitting mid 12s during winter and high 12s during summer...

I don't have a budget but obviously, I would like to spend the least amount of money possible...

If you go FI, then at least forge the bottom end and lower the compression so you can run high boost.

If you are looking to just go a little faster, then P&P Heads and Intake, a cam, some LT Headers, a good CMR Tune and you are in the very low 12's, maybe even 11's.

If you plan on running DR's, then you MUST get the upgraded Halfshafts. Not necessarally the 1000hp shafts, but the 650 shafts would be fine for mild built engines.

ok if I was in ur shoes this is what I would do
get some long tubes, high flow cats, cam and heads. Them tune it and see where u r. Then u can see if u want to add a blower turbos or a bigger displacment motor.

How much time do you think I would take of my ETs if I decide to go with FI?

If I do the P&P Heads, Intake, cam, LT Headers, and CMR Tune, would I need to upgrade the halfshafts? Would my tranny work ok with this mods?

    Again, Thanks guys...

PS: 1bad4dr, I saw the vid of your race against the SRT4 of Randy Lopez, and your car is truly amazing…

I think this might be the way to go... Who do you recommend I talk to? What brand of head and cam do you guys recommend?

I guess that the best option for the LT headers would be kooks and for the high flow cats, the Magnaflow's 3" high flows...?

call andy at power ported proformance he's great. HHP also has great numbers but is rather $$$. As for the shafts I would get them. You dont need the 1000 hp ones. But fpr a few extra by its worth it. And a nice pair of drag radials from tyrbne
