Anyone here know how much the Eibach 2873.680 Pro-System-Plus, (springs, shocks and sways kit) will actually lower a 300C SRT-8? Many lowering kits I've seen come with a 'disclaimer' about not lowering SRTs as much as they lower a 300C. Would hate to drop this much money for 1/2 inch drop. Thanks! :thanks:
are you dead set on this set up??? i know the KW's, Teins, BC Racing, Pedders, etc. will drop the srt close to 2" or more. i have run the KW's for the past 4 years and have had zero issues with them!!! car is over 2" lower than a stock srt and rides better!!
Got hold of Eibachs technical support and they specifically say that their springs are NOT made to be run on an SRT8. They offer shocks and sway bars but no coil springs for the SRT8. It appears that the resellers will advertise the Pro Kit for the SRT8 but Eibach says NO. So ,yeah Legmaker, looks like coilovers is the way to go. Thanks.
you will not be sorry!!! doing just springs on cars this heavy is a sure way to have a shit ride, and blown shocks in a short time. do the coilovers, you will not be sorry!!!
I have had the KW V1's since April 06 with no issues. Mine is only 1 1/4 dropped. Leg is an animal with his drop. haha Check out aecarbon (Vendor here). He supplies the K-Sport coil overs and can offer a decent price.
Mark has his car dropped and cant make it over a speed bump lol...so yeah drop it in accordance with where you live and where you drive... I want to drop my car but i am pushing my luck where I live with it at the ride height its at now
But here is a question, and something to think about for anyone who has not changed their factory coilovers. I have the DMH cutouts on and the kooks LT sitting in storage room. With the DMH it is pretty low and not sure if the LT headers will be even worse. But i suppose with the coilovers you can quickly adjust if need be correct? Here is how i lowered my 98 dodge ram..... ADD SOME WEIGHT! A 500 lb ski-doo works! lol
I have the KW V'2's. The V1's aren't rebound adjustable, whereas the V2's are. Neither are true coil overs in the rear, they are struts and springs. The only way to adjust the height in the rears, is to remove, adjust, and replace. If I were doing it today, I would choose a true coilover set up front and rear. Like these:
With JMatt's stuff you can adjust all 4 corners everything in about 15 minutes (after removing the wheels). There is a minimum drop with all the aftermarket coilovers. That means with the setting at the max height the car will still be dropped some amount (0.5" to 0.75"?) depending on the ones you get.
A couple of guys are having issues with the BCR coilovers, on RT's. The rear shock lock nuts loosen and the shock begins to loosen itself.
i just like my cars loooooow!!!! not much..... he and ryan just had a big lunch..... V2's are adjustable for rebound, V1's are not. both are ride height adjustable this issue was fixxed. my buddy was a test mule for their set ups and had similar issues. it has sense been corrected. i do like the bc racing set up. much more adjustable and height adjustments are easier in the rear!!! the pricing is quite nice as well!!!
Coolness. Yeah the BCR pricing can't be beat and hard to pass up... like $650 I think. It seems their "default" setup has pretty stiff spring rates... +600 lbs/in at all four corners I believe... which would give a helluva stiff ride. But I also hear you can request a different rate if you wanted more of a stock ride... which is what I'd want.
Im running Eibach Sportlines with Pedders GSR shocks and have been for over a year and have had ZERO ISSUES!!! I have a full 2" drop and it looks great and handles great as well. Feels like its stock, just a tad bit stiffer. No bouncing, no rubbing and i can hit the corners as hard as a Porsche with no issues. IMO the only reason Eibach says they dont make them for the SRT8 is because of the Nivomats and the springs wont lower with them on. Lose the Nivomats and you can lower it just like any other LX. I've always had Eibachs on my lowered cars and always will.
