    Hey guys,

Im looking to lower the 300c. I really dont want it to be super low or have a rough ride, which is why Im not getting coil overs. I want it to ride similar to stock. I told myself when I got this car I wasnt going to lower it, but everyday I look at it, thats the first thing that comes to mind, so looks like Ill be doing that soon :stars:

What kind of springs would you suggest? Does Mopar make lowering springs for the 300c SRT8? I had an SRT4 before this, and they made springs for that, so I figured they might for the LX models too.

I saw Hotchkis Lowering Springs for $258,but have no clue as to how they would ride, or how much drop is, or if it would look good.

Any info you guys have is more than greatly appreciated!

    -Josh :)

I heard aftermarket coilovers improve the ride quality over stock ..

Something about that doesnt seem right, coil overs are supposed to improve traction, and control of the vehicle by applying more of the vehicles weight to the grough, and not by letting it bleed off (if you will) through softer springs..

Unless you change both the shock and the spring on an SRT8 you cannot lower it due to the load leveling shock......at the moment anyway.

Waaay more involved than that. and a lot is due to the struts that work with the springs as a system.

OK, so what I get from the responces is, is that theres no way to lower the car, and keep stock comfortability? (i.e: mopar springs, or a company like that KW, etc..) ?!

Mopar and KW are coil overs.

I will say this, you WILL get a much better overall ride with the coil overs.

Ride with the Mopars will be about the same as stock
Ride with the KWs will be better than stock (more controlled, less harsh)

I had the Hotchkis lowering springs on my Magnum and the ride was great for a daily cruiser. If you just change the rear shocks to the '08-'10 SRT shocks you'll have your rig lowered for a lot less money.

By changing to the 08/10 SRT rear shocks, you can then use any aftermarket lowering springs to lower the car.

    OK thanks.

I checked and the cost of 2 shocks from 08-10 + drop springs is about the same price as coilovers!!

    So coilovers FTW!!

I think that's a much better idea. You want the springs and shock/strut to be designed to work together.

Really? You can get coilovers for somewhere around $600? Where? I'll take set.

Well....almost 300 for drop springs, and 350 per shock.....that is 1k which is pretty damn close to a set of coilovers. Canada pricing FTL!!

The moment has passed. Pedders and King Springs offer SPRINGS only that claim to be compatible with Nivomats with a slight drop from stock height.

I would also not recommend anything other than Pedders coilovers... if my understanding is correct. All LX coilovers, except Pedders, place the entire car's weight (rear) on the stock shock mounts. That's not how DCX designed weight handling in the rear; the stock shock mounts weren't intended to carry the whole car, weight is designed to be shared with the spring mount. I know of at least one person who has bent stock shock mounts due to this type of coilover; apparantly if f'ed his car up pretty bad.

I believe Pedders coilovers uses a redesigned rear mount system intended to overcome this limitation. Not sure if true or not but this is what I've read.

Granted, the guy with the bent stock shock mounts drove extremely aggressively and apparantly had his car air born some number of times. Even so, it seems like his case is an acceleration of what could be taking place in any of your cars with the common coilover design used on LX's. Metal fatigues overtime and, seems to me, would at least open the door to bent mounts even if you never see air.

This is not true, I have recently installed a set of KSport Coil overs on My Magnum. The rears are a separate coil AND a spring. The fronts are coil overs.

There are 36 level of dampening. The spring rate is adjustable. ride hight, geeze, you can go up for the Donk look, or you an put it so low, well... ya know.

Here is the front at 10 turns, (about 3/4") from absolute lowest.

Here is a rear component set up:

If your wanting to just go lower... I have a set of Ksport springs that are brand new, not even out of the box.....
