Madeline's hijinx and exploits...

She's walking more and more every day and hollers "Dada!" when she wants Marc (she prefers him to me) and points at things after months of me wondering if she ever would.

 

Today was Madeline's 18 month wellness check up thing. She checked out fine. She's now 34 inches tall and weighs 25 pounds. So 99% height compared to girls her age and a little above average weight. No more shots or doctor visits until her birthday.

Yeah, when I park the stroller next to the rear quarter to put her in the car, she reaches out to touch the rims. LOL! Its already started.

Today after her third haircut. She's too friggin' cute. Helps that her dad is too. At least that's my opinion.

So here's hoping Madeline takes more after him in her high school years.

 

Looks like Madeline's pretty much caught up developmentally. She points at things, shakes her head no, is attempting to feed herself with a fork and spoon, can use a straw, and even likes to sit in her rocker like a regular chair. Says up when she wants to be picked up or when we're climbing the stairs, says down when she wants down or we're going down stairs. She loves to look at picture books, has figured out how to scribble with crayons, even tried leaving artwork on the walls. Oh and I got my first kiss on the cheek from her on Saturday. I'll keep posting pictures though.

Oh and based on her dancing skills in dance class, she's been approved to move on up to the next level of dancing in January, woohoo! :dance4:

everything you are going through brings back memories of my daughter she was also a premie. 6 weeks early now she is 11 and eats more than me lol.

 

Glad someone likes to look at them. LOL! She's doing great, acts more and more like a little lady and less and less like a baby. She'll be 20 months old tomorrow. The 13th would've been 18 months if she'd been full term. She's the biggest kid in her dance class and folks don't believe me now when I mention she was 10 weeks premature.

I've been getting burned out lately with all her tantrums and hardheadedness, but then I saw a news story on a children's hospice in San Francisco last night. Remembering all the tubes and machines and monitors and all the tests and things she had to endure and realizing that there are a lot of little ones who don't do as well as she has, kind of smacked the crankiness out of me. If she wasn't so spirited and strong-willed, she might not be doing as well, so I just have to be thankful for that and try not to let it get under my skin.

 

Yesterday marked 20 months for Madeline. So I took her to the playground and she ran laps.
