Hey guys, a few my friends have SRT 8 chargers and well after seeing some of the stuff i have my truck they want the same for their car. I will be installing everything and wanted to know first hand whats the best stuff for the dollar out there. Catless mid pipes cat back exhausts CAI handheld tuners w/tunes I did a search but got tons of info, i want to know what you guys have and what you are happy with. If there is any other kind of neat visual stuff, show me too. BTW Im in Pasadena, ca so if yall are meeting anytime lett me know
Welcome to the other SRT site Ferrari....these guys will get you some answers......show some pics of your truck too..
can you run catless mids in CA? Cat backs.... Borla, Corsa, Magnaflow (the Mopar i think), Zoomers...will depend on what hes looking for sound wise this is mine with a CAI (AirHammer) and Flowmasters..... http://www.youtube.com/user/sdc188#p/u/3/26U7Q-FAjdY Predator or Trinity for the Handheld....end of story...depends on how much he wants to spend.... CAI is pretty much what looks and sounds the best...they are all the same lol
The list... 1) Diablo Predator or Trinity 2) 180 T-Stat 3) Highflow cats (Magnaflow) 4) Catbacks - your choice as they are all pretty much the same in gains. 5) CAI- same as catbacks. 6) Heads and Cam (check any of our vendors. Local you have CMW and Stack) 7) Point your friends to this forum. Shameless plug in hehe 8) Smack the vtcoa guys for me. Especially that Patrick guy... haha Oh yea, welcome to the nut house.
sure... hmm Since we are spending THEIR money... haha ...a nice CMW built 426 with the Hellion TT kit...
alrighty good stuff, lots of info to look into. Most of the guys just want to spend anywhere from 300 to 1k tops im thinking or little by little as he said LOL. I want to start em off a cat delete and tune since well that netted me a nice SOTP feel that it was quicker. Funny thing is, one of the guys asked me bout my Nx setup and how much I had into it...Then he almost flipped when i told em it would put it like 580 at the wheels..If he only knew of the bigger monsters out there LOL BTW 4dr, I think I remember seeing your car out here in Ca at the super sunday car show out in what is it ??? malibu It was a couple years back now but i remember that car...very nice paint job
#1 (by far) and #2 in the list above will give you the biggest bang for the buck performance wise (by a large margin). and you could install t-stats for the whole lot of them in an hour or two.
I'm domesticated (drive the toddler around nowadays), but when I get a weekend away, I like the road course driving. My mods are based upon sound and that kind of driving. 1. Zoomers Catback Exhaust (nice roary sound, like "NASCAR!" I was told by an older gent at the tire shop) 2. Airhammer Stainless Steel Intake (its big and shiny under the hood and it made the Zoomers more THX-y) 3. Hotchkiss Swaybars (nice and stiff in the turns) 4. 180* t-stat (cause it gets hot in Cali) 5. Fan mod (I haven't gotten around to getting a Predator, but when I start working again its next on the list) 6. I did get painted blacked out tails, but got nailed by local PD over it, so went back to stock tails. 7. Daytime Running Lights (its a flash thing your dealer or a friend with the proper equipment can do for you) 8. Interior LED map and dome lights in red (seemed cool initially, but thinking of switching to green for the holidays) Mods I have yet to do: 1. racing pedals 2. pink shift thingy 3. predator 4. some kind of suspension tweaks (pedders maybe) 5. clear turn signal lamps, cause they look cool on Ron's car 6. assorted pretty Billet Tech bits for the interior and engine bay 7. 2008 Superbee interior panels to replace the shoddy looking light beige plasticky bits Oh and :welcome: to the C! Looks like you'll fit right in.
well you did throw heads and a cam in there without him asking so why the F not LOL What tam means by pink shift thingy is the Park Lock mechanism. Might be something you want to run by him...$50ish but will save you hassle of being screwed in a parking lot with your car not wanting to shift out of park lol http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14837
Welcome from a FOUR MAGNUM family in North Carolina. My SRT is stock except for the K & N CAI. Would like to do more someday; just really thankful at this time, I able to have it ~ stock or NOT!
First - catch can...who wants all that oil sucked back into the intake??? Second - tuner, like Predator or equivilent, if there is one makes the car CRISP...sharper shifts and more responsive to the trottle even on the 91 octane tune Third - 180 deg. thermostat BUT, if you don't reprogram the fan temperature settings, it will be as effective as tits on a bull once the engine warms up Fourth - cat back - I wouldn't mess with the stock cats if you live in an emission testing state....... Fifth - CAI just because they look better... and now that you can't excellerate in the rain, save up for a limited slip rear conversion (ie. 2009 Getrag etc...)
damn, some good memories of the Malibu show. WOW. I remember talking to a few of you guys at that show as Maureen (mrssrt10) has her SRT10. I cruise vtcoa every now and then.
