They're all lined up with the TB and it doesn't look like that can be rotated.

I am talking about the mounting threads and nut. They can be rotated so you don't see them as fluently. JMO

Oh wait! that 3rd one back is a band clamp. I thought that was part of the TB itself. So all 3 *could* be rotated. I was thinking that 3rd one was fixed and so the other 2 were lined up with that one. ...never mind...

Sheesh, guys ... the car isn't done yet so give us a little credit on the clamps. I thought it would be nice to have the guys get the CAI to show pics to rubbel (and you all) but it has to come off to run more lines under there so it's not ready for delivery in those pics.

The observation was fine, but the continuous comments were unnecessary IMO. We certainly aren't going to turn out something unsightly.

well then delete what you think isn't appropriate. After all, it is your forum.
but comments like these are ok? kind of a double standard, don't ya think?

Kris, NO ONE has said anythig bad about BMC, nor has anyone said BMC could not build a show car or never has built a show car.

    Get over yourself!

WOW ... at least the staff supports the supporting vendors here!

Since we can't get over ourselves apparently, and are expected to just stay quiet while admins on and staff of this forum comment negatively about our work, maybe you should remove us as a vendor. I thought making a comment in response to the 5 negative comments in my own forum was better than just deleting posts by staff and members here, but I guess I was wrong again.

Chris - positve comments from Australia was Matt Smith of Yella Terra as well as some PM's from various forum members. I post on several auto forums. When I can I give or send a DVD of all my car pics. Scott's BT valve covers got a positive comment from Mr. Norms Garage yesterday when I picked up my 8 rib set-up from them. They were kind enough to talk openly and give me a great tour. They were impressive! The forums result in a lot of PM's both sent and received. Some are positive comments, some suggestions, and some do not like something about my build. Biggest negatives were my HRE wheels ( which look killer in person IMO) and all the gauges ( which I wanted to monitor my engine operating parameters to prevent damage). Biggest positive was my no holds barred approach to my build and making FUN and SAFETY my priority. Also, I do e-mail correspond with some of the industries manufacturing firms and get feedback from them as well.

he was making an observation about the clamps .. which can be easily rotated so a simple "oh yeah, thanks" would probably have ended it ..

but while you bring up show winning cars .. I have never seen a show winning car with all the gauges arranged and organized like this .. I am sure with your vast knowledge of cars and manufacturing that you could have come up with something better then this (see below) HAHA ..

Sorry Rubbel .. I love your build and your enthusiasm, but the number of gauges and how they are set-up IMHO is not the nicest way

I am 100% ok with any viewpoint pro or con. All inputs can hopefully make my build even better by strengthening the weak points. You are not the first to comment on my gauge set-up not up to the rest of my build. Same was said of my HRE wheel choice by many. My desire was to have as much information available as possible as FI tuning is still an "art" somewhat. I wanted to see all possible pressures and temperatures to protect my engine before meltdown happened.
I chose to monitor both L&R bank EGT, fuel pressure, heat exchanger temp, block water temp, boost, AFR,ect.

I will say no more now other than I hope and expect my car to be finished by Thanksgiving and my build is not done as BMC is unable to contact the parts supplier for two weeks in a row. I have no idea why so I asked the supplier via e-mail tonight what is wrong and why no answer in two weeks. Hope to know on Monday!!!! I have no clear answer from BMC what still is unfinished other that that issue, alignment, and tune by Diablosport.

hell yeah, I agree with you 1000% that some of those gauges are necessary to ensure your dream car doesn't grenade .. my point being that I would have mounted the gauges differently where they are still visible yet dont affect visibility .. but the best view is with your ass inthe seat, not through a pic .. so good luck with the rest dude .. hope you have it by thanksgiving ..

Yeah you could be hit in any show for the number of gauges BUT! you have many creative ways to "clean" up the gauges later on in those positions.

Regardless of everyones opinion even mine you sure as shit did NOT half ass it!!! Most people attempt to half ass everything even myself. You have picked the best parts around...

FYI I bought a 3 gauge dash mount to try and Lisa said it was poor quality so we scrapped that idea. Would have allowed six on the dash. The gauge pods were the only alternative unless we rebuilt the entire dash. We tried cutting the pods down as well. I wasn't ready for that althought I am doing a custom dash dial to match the cobalt gauges. I plan to play around with screw lengths and positioning after I have the car. I have a CNC machine shop so an alternative may be found later. Hard to do from 220 miles away. Right now I'm just antsy to get my car back after amost a full year.:stars:

Thanks for the positive comment. Best part this has been FUN. And although Lisa and I argue at times BMC did a great job overall on this. My lack of patience has been difficult for her I know. For me too!! The forums have been a true blessing on this project as well! And I cannot believe how many interesting people I've come into contact with!!!

Fiber glass? But to avoid the pods looking "cheap" cover it in leather/pleather/or suede?
