I am not a big fan of the prop rod that most vehicles come with, so one of the first things I did with my new Challenger R/T is installed hood struts. No more prod rod, no more burning my hand on the hood while I'm getting the prop rod in place, and no worries about someone knocking the prop rod down. Plus, it looks great!! If you have am SE or R/T, this is a 'must' mod!

Our hood strut kit uses factory hood struts and brackets for a perfect fit and factory look. This is the same set of components used on the SRT Challengers, and all the SE and R/T hoods and fenders are ready for the install. The hoods have the mount built in and the fenders have pre-threaded holes for the brackets to screw in. This was literally a 5 minute project.

What do you need to install these hood struts?
    • Dodge Challenger SE, R/T
    • 13mm Socket w/ Ratchet
    • BMC Hood Strut Kit
    • 5 Minutes of Time

How do you install the BMC Hood Strut Kit?
    1. BMC Hood Strut Kit
    2. Screw the 'bracket' into the existing threaded hole of your fender
    3. Press the hood strut into the existing knob on the hood
    4. Press the other end of the strut onto the knob of the bracket you just screwed into the fender
    5. Repeat Steps 2-4 on the other side

Here are some photos (from my iPhone) from the installation. It really did take me 5 minutes to do this, it's so easy!

Aren't those upside down? Shouldn't the fat part be attached to the car?

Should be the same. Everybody else's SRT8 came with the struts so the mounts should be there already.
