http://www.challengerblog.com/2007/dodge-pre-sells-6000-challengers-in-two-days.html I think Dodge may have underestimated the interest customers have in the 2008 Dodge Challenger as 4300 people put down deposits the first day when they began taking orders. Since then Dodge has taken over 6000 deposits for orders which means if Dodge sticks to their guns of only producing 5000 units some customers will be left out in the cold or they just might have to wait for the 2009’s that should come out sometime in the Summer of ‘08. Even though customers have yet to see the production version of the Challenger which will come in February at the Chicago Auto Show it seems they are satisfied with what the concept looks like. If deposits keep up like this they would easily have over 10K by the end of the year.
It's nice to see the SRT buzz'n loud... I don't think there are any other "new" SRT's come out or getting major overhauls for awhile (300?). I may be wrong but I think people put down deposit money in 2002 for what was finally shipped as the 2004 GTO.... not to mention they got boned for 50 hp when the 05's got the 6.0L
Dodge has already admitted that response was greater than expected and they will now make more than the originally planned 5,000 units. Dealership allocations have also gone up significantly too. Originally dealerships were supposed to get only 1 each, now some are getting 5 or more.
I just hope they dont OVER produce them...they should have a limited production run of the challenger...but bumping the amount up a little bit wouldnt hurt izza:
+1 If they do overproduce them IMO the Chally will lose some value/desire, therefore lowering future sales & future collector value. IIRC the GT500 production #'s are near 8000? We don't need another IROC Camaro on every street corner.
I just hate the biznass of business....the fact that they're making the challie's in a 6 cylinder sucks....but it's happened in the domestic market for decades...just never like it.
Yeah, some cars you should make a 6 cyl model...the 4 and 6 cyl models saved the mustang... but for this particular model run...it should be 5.7L R/T and a 6.1 (or 6.4) SRT just my opinion though...
Here's a few to get you guys salivating....(I can't have a two-door until, well, until I don't need a baby seat anymore lol.)
These are the concept wheels but I think I like them a lot...headlights are cool too. Not a big fan of stripes in general but these are very nice IMO. They DO look very nice on certain cars though and the Challenger is one of them...especially in the CF-look
That's a heck of a car, I can't wait to see it in the streets... What about this version, it looks different... I guess this is the SRT8 Challenger...
