Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa this thread is for chase LOL so not that it wasnt expected...but after the track day at Atco...i have solidified the need for DR's.... with an avg 60' of 2.5 or higher....was an ugly day hahahah however....after i started to get the hang of it...i pulled this run out.... Car #: 56 R/T: .793 (wasnt really caring about that at this point) 60': 2.214 (yeaaaaaaaaa lol) 330': 5.807 1/8: 8.462 MPH: 92.15 1000': 10.737 1/4: 12.644 MPH: 119.93 (hehehehe) then...to end the day....i got this timeslip.... Car #: 56 R/T: .931 60': 2.840 (not wheel spin...i really babied it off the line on purpose) 330': 7.175 1/8: 10.479 MPH: 74.89 1000': 13.282 1/4: 15.660 MPH: 94.69 so to figure out WHY it was so bad and i felt no boost...went back to the pits....popped the hood....and found the cog belt...sans the cogs....somehow....the belt had all the cogs sheered off....and the belt was somehow sitting on the motor when i popped the hood.... so yeah...not sure how that happened...probably should work on figuring that out haha so....time for some real rubber!
Now you have a base buddy time for drags for you and me, lets see if we can get a better deal if we both buy them. Too much power not getting to the ground. Nice runs buddy.
Not sure....Chris suggested i start by checking the alignment of the pullies....just to be sure nothings messing with them there.... I dont think the belt was too tight....ill try and take a pic of the bracket to explain why today or tomorrow...but if it was it is easily fixable with the sliding tensioner.... that last run i was like...."k...im fully into it...why am i barely moving" haha.... seriously dude...i laughed when i saw the time and speed haha yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I understand what Chris is saying, but typically if the pulley's are out of alignment, there would be signs of fraying. Is there signs of fraying? To smooth out the cog's teeth generally points to maladjusted belt. Too loose or too tight.
yeah it did fray a little...not a HUGE amount but a little bit... when I get home ill take some pics of the belt and the pulleys other thing is....the belt seemed to be right on the edge of the pulleys....so maybe that has to do with the *possible* misalignment of the pulleys.... it wouldn't be a huge shocker to me if the pullers werent 100% lined up as its not the blower the kit cam with...even though it should in theory be a bolt in replacement.
Just very very tired LOL got 2 hours of sleep sunday into monday...and am running on about 20 hrs sleep in the last 2 weeks LOL
dahahaha, could very well be related. When he tightened one bolt he was holding a full beer in the other hand. When he got to the other bolt he was holding a half beer in the other hand... different torque ==> belt not aligned.
it woulda been a ROOTbeer LOL and i will check it.... Lisa is sending me 3 new belts so that if it happens again before i can identify the problem, i will be covered... and dont worry dave...i will do my best to torque both bolts as exactly the same as i can manage .... it almost looks like the spacer for the tensioner should be a little bit thinner as it pushes the belt all the way out to the edge of the pulley.... might be worth taking it to a machine shop and getting it ground down a little bit?
Dont worry Cam...i hear those crates are quite spacious.... more room than coach anyway LOL yeaaaaaaaa i was hoping that the NT05's would hook a LITTLE better than they did lol...not that i thought they would be anywhere in the realm of DR land...but yeah that didnt happen LOL
