Ok I hope I have not just overlooked a prior thread on this but I could not find one. I am wanting to do a new exhaust system with out doing headers or offroad mid pipes. I have spent weeks looking and listening to what is out there. I want loud. I was looking at the Corsa cat back and the B&B but they dont seam that loud for what I can tell from the vids. Has any one done cat back straight pipes with just tips?? and if so how loud is it. Thanks for and thoughts and input everyone.
Check with BWoody. I do have LT Headers, no cats, and a true 3" all the way back. Very aggressive sound. http://s51.photobucket.com/albums/f...ound Clip/?action=view¤t=VTS_01_104.flv
considering this is a jeep, i would check out the corsa....... the system i heard on a jeep sounded damn nice!!!!
well I am not sure how loud they in person it is hard to tell from a stupid vid LOL.... I also have a 99 RT dakota with headers, offroad midpipes, no mufflers and a it is just about perfect but it still seams alot louder then your vids of your car 1bad. just so hard to tell with video's.
On the LX's anyway, the Corsa's are fairly subdued at less than WOT. At WOT they are about as loud as most anything else. So at steady state cruising you're not going to be making a whole lot of noise.
Where are you located? Maybe some members in your area would be willing to let you listen in person? I will assure you, my exhaust is nice and throaty and the loudest I have had on this car. Other exhaust I had was Zoomers and Magnaflow.
The Borla S or the B&B are the loudest. The B&B has had fabrication issues in the past. Here are a couple of vids but we both have kooks headers. The guy filming has the Borla S and the vehicle by itself in the video is the Mopar/Corsa. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKX0LNjaCRQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiPM5hHmXnA
sweet thx for the vid's The bottom vid has a good sound to my ear. I am in Colorado Springs Colorado.
oh I am in a OC club here in Colorado but very few jeeps only 4 of us and 2 of them have lots more money then me one is a 426 with a twinscrew. Out of my league LOL
Hey James....maybe one of these days Rip will make it to a meet. His exhaust can give you a starting point.
whats your definition of "loud" lol Does SLP make a jeep exhaust? cause that would probably be the way to go as far as noise goes.... basically your looking at: Exterior Resonance (Outside noise level) Interior Resonance (Inside noise level) Tone (Higher pitched *corsa* or deeper *SLP*) So your answer on those 3 determines which exhaust you want...
Yes, drone would be equated with resonance. sort of... I think drone would be better equiate with *harmonic* resonance? Different than just the (constant) interior noise level. I always think of drone as those rpms/frequencies where it gets noticeably louder. Even worse where it constantly goes between "louder" and "normal".
ok as far as drone or interior noise. I really don't care about either has no bearing on my choice. Exterior I like it to where it will wake the neighbors up across the street when I start it and rattle there windows. Does that help LOL Tone I like the old Ford rocks in the tail pipe sound with a deep tight crisp tone. And last not to sound stupid but I dont belive I know SLP. More info please
