what would his gearing change to with the 17's vs the 20's but I guess with the diablo (if he has one) he can change the tire/wheel sizes

    Stock:
    Tire size: 255/45/20
    Tire height: 29.04"
    RPM: 6200
    1st: 48.8 mph
    2nd: 79.9 mph
    3rd: 124.1 mph

    17's:
    Tire size: 275/40/17
    Tire height: 25.66"
    RPM: 6200
    1st: 43.1 mph
    2nd: 70.6 mph
    3rd: 109.7 mph

So, shooting for something in the high 80's mph for the 1/8?

By my calculations when his odomerter reads 60mph he will only be going 53mph or 11.6% too fast with the 17's

WTF dude???...i drive BETTER with one eye shut, and 40oz between my legs...i just shoot for the middle lane...;)

follow the advice already given, and when you see the third yellow light up, hit the gas, you should have a pretty good R/T like that. You'll prolly be as nervous as a chi-wa-wa on crack, just try and stay focused at the task at hand, and pay no attention to all the people laughing at you in the stands and staging lanes. :)

Have fun bud, and give em hell!

pee before you race .. that way you know you wont mess all over the place when you have that nervous "I have to pee feeling"

also .. take a shit before you get to the track ..
1 because the bathrooms there are usually disgusting and your high maintenance ass would have to hover over the toilet .. then the water splashes up .. its just no good ..
2 a good shit can knock .1 to .2 seconds off your ET .. its a proven fact.

You have to figure from the smaller number. 11.6% over 53 only gets you to 59.148.
To get from 43.1 mph to 48.8 mph that would be 5.7 mph which is 13.2% of 43.1. So he'd be going 13.2% too fast right?

You can fix the car's speedo with the Predator though if he wanted to.
The mph's I listed are calculated from the engine RPM, through the trans gear ratio, through the rear end ratio and using the respective tire diameter.

I went to to 3 parts places and called 2 others, nobody has a 1/4" spacer and I dont have the time to grind out the back of the wheel to clear the hub. Oh well, next time w/ DRs and some juice...

I have to pretend there is an egg on top of the gas pedal... try not to "break" the egg until second grabs or else you'll be spinning the shoes for a while....

Just think of it as the stop light race you always wanted to run, but didn't because you didn't want a ticket. And yes, your times will get slower as your engine heats up.

Don't wear work boots, wear some good sneakers that aren't too thick in the sole and allow for ankle movement. You have to sort of roll into the gas pedal rather than mash it. Doesn't make you a pussy, just means you don't look like a dumbass spinning the tires.

Probably why I don't like to drag race any more, so much freakin' planning and thought and shit to remember all for 13 seconds or less of accelleration and then you have to brake and get back in line again.

Do you have the right wheels, the right tires, what's the air pressure, did you empty your trunk, did you take out the back seat, did you warm up the tires, did you drive thru the box, did you turn the AC and ESP off, do you have your predator and fan settings right, what's the DA, and on and on and on and on. After hearing all that, I ran a few times, decided it was over too quick, like sex with a virgin guy (pass) and opted to stick to road course racing.

So yeah, try and have fun and don't beat yourself up if you don't get the greatest run times. Your car is still pretty damn impressive to all the kids out at the track who can't afford to bring a redneck mercedes to the track, run 13s, and drive it home with no fuss.

Just have fun buddy, you may have the same issue as I did the bigger and wider tires weighing you down but your pushing a tad more power then me.

No water box, VERY light burnout if any, me I choose none because I love my Vreds :)

You can take the A/C off the list. Our cars turn it off automatically at WOT.

See? now there's almost nothing to think about :)

You should never run the A/C at the track regardless...can/will drip water...big no-no.

I think Chase is going to be excited about not doing a burnout, he'd be all worried about the burnt rubber thats caked in his wheel wells the whole time

I know I was. One teeny tiny burnout and there were unsightly rubber peas stuck all over the back of the car. It wasn't anywhere near that bad doing a burnout on the street.

Yeah, took me awhile to get all the rubber chunks out of the wheel well and off the rear after RobAGD took the car out for a run.
