Got into the car this morning, turned on the A/C and nothing! :eek:oh: Worked fine yesterday when I shut the car off, but this morning I got nada!!!

Now, I checked the fuses (#4 and #22) and both look fine. Had a good friend of mine come by the office with a new A/C relay and that did not help. When I press the button on the dash, it lights up, but I do not hear the compressor turn on, nor do I see any voltage drop on the EVIC. Do our systems shut down if they do not detect sufficient pressure from the freon????? I have seen other systems that will shut down when freon pressure drops for the sake of saving the compressor. Do ours do the same??? I have not checked for fluid loss/empty. All I know is that living in Florida without the A/C working SUCKS!!!! :stars:

Did you check the harness connector to the compressor clutch? You might have knocked it loose while you had the front end off doing the re-plumbing? There's a relay for the clutch somewhere too.

I feel your pain Chris...it was 92 degrees here today with 98% humidity.....that is about 20 degrees warmer than it should be here in NE TN this time of year..........sorry I dont have any suggestions for solving your a/c problem other than visiting the dealer....

Apparently they do! This is from the diagnostics for A/C compressor won't turn on.

I like Dave's first suggestion first :). You did a ton of Fn around down there. Make sure you didn't wipe out a wire. If you had rubbed through the line, two things would have occured. You would have heard it blowing off, well that if you weren't talking dirty to Scotty on the phone and you WOULD HAVE noticed compressor oil all over everything. And considering how Fn annal you are, that one would have jumped out at you.

i knew you would come through dave!!!! :friends:

yes...... i am a tad ocd with the car. i looked down at the compressor last night and did not see anything unusual. also did not see any hanging wires, but i am going to put it in the air tonight and look closer.

btw - i only talk dirty to scott on the home phone......:bigwink:

no codes kyle. i checked the fuses and replaced the relay in the fuse box and nada...... i am going to take it to my friends shop to check freon levels and cross my fingers that 4 summers of driving with the a/c on constantly have drained the system and i just need a refill!!!

:eek:oh: ouch....... soon jon, very soon!!!!

    You could check the freon.
You could check the wiring by testing with a multimeter at the plug nearest the compressor clutch and see if you can see the current when it's supposed to switch on/off.

UPDATE: just found the reason why my a/c does not work......

erik had the right answer......... my steel braided oil return line from my blower rubbed against the aluminum high pressure a/c line and caused a small hole to form. hooked the system to my buddies a/c service machine, saw no freon, filled system, turned on a/c and all was good....... for about 1 minute....... then smoke and freon started blowing all over!!!!! arrrgghhhhh!!!!!! off to the dealer on weds to get fixed!!!

Chris why did you put freon back in without repairing the leak? And that wasnt smoke you were seeing it was oil being forced out of the pin hole.

There is no way to repair that hose it has to be replaced along with all the o-rings on both sides.

Same reason he didn't fix the roof when it wasn't raining.

He'll notice that as soon as he goes to wipe something in there...

uhoh, you mean the duct tape isn't going to do it? The duct tape is on there but we ran out of freon on the first fill that found the hole.

 (before you get your panties in a bunch and all butt hurt thinking people don't think you can wrench...:friends:
