Hello All! I would like to know the interest level for NAG1 transmission upgrades. By 'Upgrades', I mean internal part upgrades. If you are interested, please post it here. Thanks!
Right now Renntech is the only company doing upgrades. They charge $2500 and will not tell you what they changed. At this very early stage I just want to see if it will worth it to move forward with this. The cost should be less than $2500. What parts will be changed? I'm not sure yet. At the very least, we would add more clutches.
I guarantee you whatever they are charging........they are overcharging by 100%. Go to the Renntech or Kleeman sites look at their performance stuff and compare it to ours..... and they are absolutely rapping :moon: the MB guys. I would be interested.
i know theres tons of guys out there that want to change out the tranny but didnt thanks to hal. im sure you'll get lots more responses to this if you check all the forums.
the rich mb owners dont care or know any better. all they know is that if its expensive its gotta be the best
If you mean upgrades to the W5A580 transmission, so it won't break as I continue to put between 750 and 950 ft lbs of torque through it, then yes, I'm interested.
Not really.......I just sold my E55. A pulley to drive the supercharger(modified factory) from Renntec or Kleeman is like $2,500 the same factory damper with a larger pulley from APC (American mfg) was $850.00!! Canned tune flash a MB which by the way is a Siemen/Bosch ECU like ours is $1500 to $2500......with an emulator and dyno shop you get a custom tune for what......$500. A kit consisting of a factory modified pulley, 2 K&N filters, and you send them your ecu......$3,800!!!!!! Shorty headers......$3,000:drugs:.http://www.evosport.com/product/proddetail.aspx?partnum=EVO.PER.M5K.PP2.220. Dont let Kooks or SW see this joke......shoot and i bought a pair......made tuning a nightmare!! Its not that the owners are dumb there are some real savy guys on the MB sites. Its the lack of manufactures/competition and they know it so they charge outrages prices and some products services that are not up to par.
Sounds like people who own a 300 and want to buy a Porsche for their daily driver........................................:moon:
BTW...I asked RennTech to itemize the invoice for my NAG1 (722.6) "Jeep SRT 8 Trans Transmission high performance upgrade" $ 2,495 Note: V-12 output shaft upgrade NOT possible Guys....they were the only people in the WORLD that would even return my calls 4 months ago! I personally hope that Eddie @ Southern gets involved. Every dealing I have had with him has been 1st class. Bill
