I would like to express my deep appreciation and thanks for one of the members on this forum. We all know him as Cam here on the SRT Connection. I know there have been many accolades and post dedicated to this man in regards to his talent and good deeds here on the SRT Connection. I just want to go on record to echo those sentiments about Cam. I think we have all had the feeling of emptiness after being screwed by someone, no pun indented. Well, I was no exception after flying down to Southern CA to pick up my car, and after seeing what Techco had delivered, I was feeling pretty low. If you remember I called Cam Mid August, to tell him about my Techco dilemma, and Cam agreed to take a look at my car. At the time the most significant issue was my blower belt was rubbing against the pulley and the edge of the belt was separating. The other issues were parts that were agreed to be installed by Techco and were not. Well, here is what Cam has done for me, not only did he fix the belt issue; he has also installed the EGT, AFR and Boost gauges, Moroso Valve Covers, and drive shaft loop. We also discovered that my intercooler had an internal leak, which Cam fixed. I think we all know that Cam is a talented wrench, but I saw his magic being performed on my ride. This man developed and manufactured tooling and test equipment to isolate the intercooler leak. The intercooler reservoir would not hold fluid, and no visible signs of a leak. Cam came up with the idea to develop a cap for the top of the reservoir which had a air valve and pressure gauge attached to it. This enabled Cam to determine that there was indeed an internal leak in the system. Well, the magic did not stop there, instead of taking the blower off; Cam pulled the front cover off the blower to expose the intercooler cooling baffles. As soon as the cover was removed you could see the evidence of the leak. Cam pulled the baffles out and discovered one of the rear O rings was torn and separated from the retaining groove. The location of the O ring at the back of the blower made it impossible to install a new O ring by hand. This is where it really became interesting to watch Cam at work, he heads for the back of his shop and develops and manufacturer’s two tools to install the O rings, and man did they work slick. The baffles were reinstalled, blower put back together, and then re pressure tested, and yes it held pressure this time. The reservoir was serviced with fluid, and low and behold the leak was fixed. I want to remind you all that this was all done in a matter of hours not days. After 4 months, I drove my car home last Thursday, all the way home I kept thinking about what Cam had done for me. A man that I hardly knew, other than the reading about his talent and passion for cars on the “Connectionâ€, stepped up and helped a fellow forum member. I can never repay Cam for stepping up, and taking that empty feeling away, and putting the joy back in me of having my project completed the way I had imagined it would have. Oh yea, the car drove like a dream all the way back to Vacaville, more to come on that on another post. Thank You Cam, I owe you big time.
