Okay everyone need some input here:

I'm debating on buying the KWV1's or the Eibach Coil Overs (CO's)! I know everyone favors the KW's, but does anyone have the Eibach CO's on their ride and how do they like them.

According to the Eibach site they list the following for their CO's:

quick adjustable lowering .8" to 3.0"

optimal damper tuning for aggressive performance

    rust-free stainless stell technology

I'm not looking for an Eibach vs. KW bashing contest. They had a few threads on the 300c site and OC site, but these threads must of been before Eibach came out with their CO's, because they were talking about Eibach not even having CO's.

I've even been told KW makes Eibach and I've been told Eibach makes the springs for KW, but the shocks are all KW! Again I'm looking for your expertise in this. Any and all help is appreciated. I'm hoping to pull the trigger within the next two weeks.

If you can get the Eibachs for say $400 cheaper than the KWv1's and you don't plan on road racing or autocrossing THAT much....I would go with the Eibachs. I know that was a loaded response, but if you want a lowered appearance with a great feeling ride, you'll be just as happy with the Eibachs.

Eibach doesn't have coilovers for the rear. Of course, neither does KW.

They're all coilovers on the front - even stock.

I'm not saying there's no difference. But I don't know. KW V1 has no damping adjustment. KW V2 has one way damping adjustment only.

Do the Eibach's have damping adjustment?

Ride heighth adjustment on the KW's is almost useless. People can't adjust the height without removing the suspension. So generally they guess, install, evaluate, remove, adjust, reinstall, and go with the ride height they got.

I'm guessing the Eibach adjustment is the same. In fact, KW makes the Eibach shocks. Valving may be substantially different though.

New mounts went on yesterday. Install is now perfect. Ride is whatever you want it to be. Big Caddy smooth, or Nascar harsh. You decide.

If you are looking for other options than the KW V1 or V2.....
I would look into the Teins which are adjustable both ways and have more adjustment points than the KW's plus in the future you can buy the "EDFC" option which is adjustable damping, by small motors mounted on the shocks, from the drivers seat. I hear they are also easier to adjust.
Also ST Suspensions coilovers seem to be a nice unit (HHP).

What about the Tein's? Bud almost got those. Damping and rebound adjustable from in the cabin if you want.

I believe there is more to just comparing coilovers going on here. I think we're looking at a bunch of mods. The cost of one set of coilovers may result in the NOT getting something else in the process. Ryan has a hookup on the Eibachs and can get those and a bunch of other goodies (Predator, sways, tinted tails) for the difference in price. So, the real question is....what would you rather have....KWv1's, or Eibach's, Predator, tinted tails, and sways?

Just cutting to the chase Ryan!

    Ricky,

I wish my hookup was that good!!!!!!!!!! In addition to the Eibach CO's I could get the PREDATOR, tinted tails and powder coated exhaust tips for the price of the KWV1's! It is a great deal no matter what. From what I understand it is all a personal opinion here. Just like CAI's and Exhaust. Everybody likes different one's. I do appreciate the input.........

All I've got to say, Ryan, ole pal, is that if I go with the Eibach setup/hookup you're talking about, I better be satisfied, or your cousins (all 10,000 of 'em) will be getting a one way ticket south. LMAO!

On a more serious note... Ryan, this hookup... do 'we' have him in a 'compromising position', whereby if we don't like the Eibachs, we can 'force' him to return our money?!?!

Ok. They're all going to drop the car the same. Now the question is ride and handling. How much do you care about that? If the main goal is to drop the car and get something better than stock ride and handling then the Eibach's would probably do that right? If there is a measurable difference and the Eibach's are half way between stock and KWs then you got to ask yourself if you're ever going to be thinking "I wish I'd waited a few months or more and got the KW's" in the future. If so, then don't do it and wait. Get the other stuff first. How close are you going to get to the KWs if you ditch the bling (tint and powder coat)? You're going to be sitting on the inside and you're going to be doing more than cruising the Home Depot parking lot every day right?

Ideal solution: Hook Momo up with your Eibach contact and have HIM buy them. Then you can get the comparison with Rick's car!

[Edit] Hahahaha, I was writing this while Momo posted and hadn't read that yet!

Yea, that's usually the way those things work :shifty: "I can get you a wholesale deal using my company discount" ... "Can we return them money back if we don't like them?"

Better yet, let's not pay for them, have them installed for free and get a free 30 day trial run. Does that sound good to you! Selfish meathole socket........................................................:mouth:

Here is the thing....the Kw V1 and Eibachs are basically one in the same they are both made by KW. I had no problem passing Mustangs, Porsches and BMW's at my recent track day w/ my Eibachs lol! I have had them on since the beginning of the year with no issues. The handling and ride is a million times better than stock IMO. I think everyone went w/ KW because they were out first and proven, but in all honesty the Eibachs are really no differnet than V1's at the end of the day except they are a couple hundred bucks cheaper. Eibach is known for suspension, and springs and makes suspension for race cars in just about every major series so they know what they are doing.
Here are few pics of the stance w the Eibachs!

    And of course the writeup.

I dont think you will be unhappy with either choice because at teh end of the day they are basically the same. If you want more adjustability then I say step up to Tein or V2's
