Anyone using a meth kit, especially on a S/C application, seen any HP/TQ gains from it. I think I recall John said he got a few extra ponies from his but not sure if it was from the kit or the tune.
i am running the snow performance stg I kit drew. when i last dyno'd the car, i actually lost power with the largest nozzle and saw no power increase with the mid size nozzle. at the track a week later, with the mid size nozzle (375ml) still in place, i ran 3 tenths SLOWER than when i turned the kit off. not only that, but everytime i got on it hard on the freeway, the car would go into limp mode!! found out i was spraying way too much!!! i am now switching to the smaller nozzle (175 ml??) and will try that.
Wow! So the only way to adjust the out put is by changing the nozzles? With that system using it's own tank, how long does it last for you?
I will be running it on mine very soon..... I had heard that tuners will not tune for the meth, rather they will tune the car as if you didnt have it, so that when you do run it, it strictly a cooling function rather than a combustion enhancer....... I guess the tuners just dont want to push it further, and until we narrow this down to more of a science, I guess I would agree.... Anybody else hear that?
Do not TUNE for IT!! Use it for cooling your intake temps...this will in turn help save some HP...tuning specifically for it can cause problems if you run out or have a malfunction. We have seen nice gains running it on S/C applications, but this is due to the cooling effect it has on your charge temps.
what he said ^^^^^^ although i quickly found out that our cars can be overly quenched easily with too big a meth nozzle!!! lol
Yea after I retuned for it my 3rd gear is usless on the street and I'm running 100% meth now cause I was 50/50 before but my car likes the 100% better
