I just installed a CAI and exhaust on my Magnum SRT8. I live in northern New Mexico. I am looking to retune my car. I had The Dyno Edge do my Cobra, Motiva do my Corvette. Question is, who does the best tunes on SRT8's in Albuquerque?

Guy at Motiva almost dropped out PT/GT off the dyno, the guy wasnt paying attention didnt back it up far enough and started lowering it.

i happened to just walk though the door and see it in time to yell at him.

I stayed and watched him while he did the tune on my Vette. I am a bit paranoid myself.

NO ONE in ABQ can tune the LX PLatform car.

    Yet.

And I would NOT trust Motiva even if they do finally get the CMR software. I am told they will be having Hennessey train them how. YIKES!

Get with Chris at Dyno Edge and see if what's his name (the guy who bought the Diablo rights from Chris) will be purchasing the Chrysler CMR kit.

Oh, since you only have a CAI, just use the canned tune from Diablo. You can always get with one of our vendors (who have CMR) to do an email tune for you.

Would there be much of a benefit doing an emailed CMR tune if you only have a CAI and exhaust?

I am not sure. Thats why I ask on this forum. On some of my other cars you could pick up 20 - 30 hp just with a tune.

For the cost of the email CMR tune, not much benefit. This is why I recommend you use the canned tune that Diablo provides with the Predator. 20 - 30 horsies.

But won't you have to tweak the canned tune because of the altitude?

Chances are you won't. Most people at sea level are adding some fuel to compensate for crappy gas, lack of a catch can, etc. At altitude you'd be running a bit on the rich side so it would likely even out. The PCM takes care of closed loop adjustment and the long term adaptive is factored into the WOT fuel. The PE table just adds some more (fixed amount). So if the long term adaptive is leaned out a bit because of the altitude and you add the same fixed amount from the PE table then it's going to be a bit richer but not much.

Call HHP they can email you a tune. And a email tune is a great thing. Josh stands by his tunes and I am sure that he has done alot of tunes for guys in your area! The worst case is this since he stands by his tunes if you are worried then you can recored how your car is running on the tune and send him the recording so he can see how the car is running and HE WILL ADJUST the tune if there are any problems and if there are they will be small problems. As someone said you can get 40 hp on a tune very easy! CAI, exhaust and a CMR tune are the keys before you break into the motor. Then we are talking another world lol. I feel that CAI, custom made exhaust and a tune puts the price tag at less then $1200.00 other will say differently but I know I have a fast car and the CMR tune is the key in IMO!

Again this is just IMO and not trying to start an argument!!!!
