So, my wife and I have differing opionions as to which on of these color adjustments are better. So, I thought I would try to get some more opinions.

Also, any other comments as to other aspects of the pic are welcome, but if you could try and make them useful so I can learn something, and not just post...

    Thanks

Number 1 FTW!...the lighting seems more "real", and makes me think about early spring on a bright, crisp morning. The colors aren't so contrast to each other in the first one, and they flow well into one another.
The second one has more of a dark feeling, like just before a rain storm, the colors are deeper and don't match as well.

Hope i helped, I had to put on a silk butterfly shirt, grape smuggler pants, and eye liner for the analysis though. :)
    Cool pic!

Here is a question for you. What is the subject? Is it the flower? or is it the Bee? The first one focuses solely on the flower as the subject, the second one makes the Bee and the Flower the subject.

Both are same quality, just slightly different subjects. :)

    You aint lying brother:ronlove:

Pic#1 is more easy on the eyes but #2 would pop more in a magazine I think it all depends on the best use of each and what the picture is being used for.

I like the color saturation of #2 better. #1 seems overexposed or glaring. IMO, they both could use some cropping to get rid of the distracting bits in the top right and lower left corners.

When I first read this I was like "WTF is he talking about they both are the same"

Then I went and looked and even though the saturation is very close between the two the one thing I notice is the WB is very different between the 2. #1 has too much blue in the pic where there should not be.

Ya know this is a quiz on homosexuality right? if you pick #1 you are gay cause you like purty flowers
if you pick #2 then you are metro and still like young boys because you like the flower and the cute lil bee.

    Just sayin

LOL at the comments...but I guess I kinda did ask for it.

Thanks for at least trying to incorperate useful info.

The Bee and the Flowers...more so the Bee, but I wasn't able to get it, without the flowers.

then number 2 is the one that is better for this image. It clearly defines subject.

The cropping really improves the image!

Here is why I am into photography. There is many ways to display subject. Whether the subject is something physical or an action. Anyone can say "ooooo is a flower purty" However it takes someone special to illustrate the action happening in the picture.

So here is what the goal of the artist is. He is displaying 2 "subjects" now when you look at the 2 subjects how do they relate? The Bee is collecting from the flower ultimately causing the flower and bee to be 1 subject.

We can argue here and there about the "natural" look of the image but in the end everything outside of the Flower and the Bee are just supporting content. Filler if you will.

When someone gets into photography it isn't what the popular see a camera used for. The images you get from a typical point and shoot are going to be exponentially stale unless you are HIGHLY skilled and have that special touch.

I think Yoko Ono said something similar about her singing.

So much of what you said I agree with. I am having so much fun with my camera learning how to use it, and how to effect the picture the way I want to. I never realized all the potential there is in a photograph...until I picked up a couple books.

Oh, BTW Mains...I blame you. Had you not made your comments about my Valentines picture, I wouldn't have been all like...
???What does he mean by that???
Then I wouldn't have bought the first book, which lead to the next book, which led to a new camera, which lead to another lense, which lead to another... d@mm!t! I used to be happy with a point and shoot...thanks a :censored: lot! When the kids find out I had to spend there college funds on camera equipment, I'm going to tell them it's your fault. :tomato:
