    Special Guest? - Friday, July 3, 2009

SRT Engineering has graciously offered to come out to the 2009 LX & Beyond Nationals on July 18-19 at Quaker City Raceway in Salem, Ohio. They will be bringing with them some very interesting cars to show off too. SRT Engineering will be available and interacting with LX & Beyond participants throughout the entire weekend and have also offered to do a 1 hour tech talk over the weekend. Also, the SRT engineers want to spend some time with around 25 Charger SRT8 customers to get some specific feedback about their cars.

I am truly humbled that they have extended this offer to us on their own time and without pay to attend the event. The SRT Engineers and I look forward to seeing everyone very soon!

2009 LX & Beyond Racing Awards: Tuesday, July 7, 2009

    Please Read First:
Sam R. known to many of you as "OMSRT8" on the forums has again created his one-of-a-kind trophies for the drag racing competition of the LX & Beyond Nationals. Sam is an avid racing enthusiast and supporter of the LX community. We asked Sam to create the trophies last year for the Inaugural LX & Beyond Nationals and I think it goes without saying they were very well received. Due to the response from last year's attendees we asked Sam to do it again for 2009 and he accepted without hesitation.

This event is more about car enthusiast, friends and family coming together than any prizes or trophies. Sam donated a great deal of his time and money into these for all of you to enjoy. Whether you see him on the forums or in-person please be sure to thank him for his contribution to the LX community.

    Thank you very much Sam.

I applaud the excellent job by Anthony and everyone else involved in putting this together but I just have to say something here..

Why is it all the three big classes have 5 sets of Wiseco pistons available as prizes and the brackets have some DR's and gas cards? Most if not all the cars that will be running in the "Quick" classes are already forged! Wouldn't it have been a little better to make at least one or two of these available to the bracket classes as they are not forged and could benefit from these?

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, I just think they would have been put to a little better use by those that are looking to upgrade and and it would help grow the "Quick" classes for the next one.

This was a discussion that has been going on offline between myself and a handful of other folks and I think that it is a very valid point and proves the point I have been making for some time. (thank you) There was a concern that everyone would question why there was so much higher value prizes in the bracket races versus the heads-up. You all have voiced your opinion of what you would like to race for and I see no reason why we can not swap the race class prizes to fit what the participants would prefer to race for. I'll take a look at it later today and adjust.

Thank you nhdave for opening this discussion and everyone else for the feedback!

Just a thought. Keep in mind that I am fine with whatever direction the organizers decide to go. How about coming up with the 6 champion prizes, 6 runner-up prizes, etc. valued as evenly as possible? Then name those prizes. Then, have the 6 champions, runners-up, etc. have a "blind" draw for their prize. Each would draw from the hat to see what they have won. You still might have someone with a 1200hp car win a set of forged pistons but it would be a totally random award.

Thank you for the additional suggestion. We will also take it into consideration.

**Sponsor feedback removed from your post**
Sponsor feedback will not be discussed publicly on a forum. Every sponsor has my phone number and email and knows how to get in touch with me directly if there is an issue. The forum does not know the details of each sponsor's agreement nor do they need to. That being said, I don't think any prize on any of these lists is second-rate or substandard. Any sponsors that feel otherwise please have them contact me directly and immediately.

    Thank you SRT Connection family!!!

Wow, another LX & Beyond Nationals has come and gone!

First, I would like to thank each and every one of you that was able to attend the event this year and make it even better than last year. Without all of you there is no event. Let me say that again, “without ALL of YOU there is no event.†Thank you for your support, thank you for your kind words, thank you for attending and for all of the great memories.

Next, I would like to thank all of the 2009 LX & Beyond Sponsors. Hands-down this is the best group of people that I have had the pleasure of working with “A thru Zâ€. I only wanted the best this year and extremely grateful I got to work with the best. If you guys only knew the lengths each one of these companies and individuals went thru to support this event (only in its 2nd year) you would be amazed. Without them none of the great prizes, t-shirts, hats or giveaways would have been possible. Please let them know that we appreciate them supporting our hobby and hope they will be willing and able to continue doing it in the future. Whether or not you won an event prize or door prize, please take a moment to send them a quick email, start a thread, send them a PM or send them a message on their websites to thank them for supporting the event and our Modern Mopar community.

Also, thank you to Erich and all of the SRT Engineers for coming out on their own time to hang out and talk with all of us as well as bringing out some very cool rides. Anybody that did not attend this year definitely missed out on a great opportunity to meet some very interesting people. Those SRT guys really know how to make an exit!!!

Last but not least, I would like to personally thank all of the countless individuals that offered help and helped me make this event happen for everybody this weekend. I don’t want to name each person by name because I don’t want to do them an injustice by forgetting a name (there are so many). Just know that there are some truly amazing people in our community and the words “thank you†don’t capture how grateful I am to each and everyone one of them for what they did. Thank you.

There is an issue that I did not address prior to the event because I have always felt that the LX & Beyond Nationals is not about one or two individuals it’s about the entire Modern Mopar community. Day one, when this began in that parking lot three years ago at Quaker Steak & Lube in Columbus, Ohio it always has been about the community and as long as I am blessed to be here it will always be about the community. There was a vendor that I spoke to at the end of the day on Sunday that I want to thank for the feedback and the support (he knows who he is) and his words convinced me that it was necessary to say something.

Not many people knew it but the 2009 LX & Beyond Nationals was organized and run entirely by me. I did have a few volunteers help this weekend but other than that there was No crew, No staff and No CHERRY (aka Chuck Green). Chuck resigned from the event months ago and will not be returning in the future. All of the sponsors were made aware of the change and I advised them my intentions were to move forward with the event. They believe in what the event is about and support the Modern Mopar community and without question supported me 110%. This is the first you are hearing of this because a handful of individuals and the sponsors respected my request to not post or say anything about it. There were many thoughts that went thru my mind back then and the months following but at no point did I ever consider cancelling the event. I know that everything was not perfect which gives some opportunity to improve things for next year but hope everyone had a great time.

I look forward to seeing everyone again for the 2010 LX & Beyond Nationals.

July 17-18, 2010 (save the date)

    Sincerely.

I am very glad that the event was a huge success, and I am terribly sorry that you had to endure this on your own (mostly). As I was unable to attend yet again this year, I did hear many good things abouth the LX and Beyond.

    Awesome job Anthony.

I would like to volunteer myself to assist you for next years event. I know that I am far away, but I can make calls, write emails, mail letters, or whatever. It is my intention to make next years festivities provided the Money Tree grows a few leaves. lol

Great job to ALL, and my hat off to you Anthony.

I'm really sorry I missed it, Anthony.
It was the ONE week/weekend this summer where I was out of town on business.
I did, however, run into a few attendees at a truck stop on my way back into town on Sunday. They all raved about how awesome the event was and how I missed out. :D

As Ron said, I'm happy to help out with 2010. I'm local, and you know I love driving around.
    I'm also 15 min. from the track (10 if I'm a bad kid...heh heh).

    Seriously....anything you need.
    You've got my cell.
