They just need to hunt the idiots who don't know how to properly care for their pets...

What really PISSES me off about this is that they will euthanize (KILL) the snakes when found.

Here's a NOVEL idea, contact City and State Zoo's, Aquariums, and Wildlife preserves and ask if they want any of the snakes. You know, set up exhibits to give the general public factual knowledge about these fine creatures?

Or how about putting them up for adoption. There are plenty of snake lovers out there.

    I know I miss mine.

You mean hold someone accountable for their actions? what an interesting idea! Like the idiot who's burmese just killed his girlfriends daughter... Wonder if the guy realized he could have just shut the damn door to the room the snake was in! Posibly even the door to the room the baby was in too! maybe even get a lid for the cage that actually locked! But instead they just blame it all on the snake.

That would make to much sense Ron, so it will never happen.

Maybe even charge an adoption fee along with the permit fee if you're in florida. Which would generate revenue for the state! Again that makes to much sense so it'll never happen.

might want to get him some lube too just incase... :D

    What a novel idea.

    True...

And before handing over to the person adopting, chip the snake. This way, if the owner ever turns it lose again...

Lube not needed for Chris...

I hear you all on the live capture deal. I agree. One issue that I believe is happening is that the Python's have begun to breed in the wild... in Florida! They're killing indigenous wildlife, and that's a big reason for the call to trap. There's a pic of one that ate a gator and burst because the gator was too big to hold in its stomach (or the gator clawed while inside).

Yes they are breeding in the wild, Burmese also can lay LOTS of eggs! However they are not the ONLY invasive species in the everglades! You would be surprised at what all is in the everglades that isn't supposed to be! http://www.evergladescisma.org/ Has a list of a LOT of invasive plants and animals, not just burmese pythons! You can also look at some other causes of the everglades being destroyed...http://www.dep.state.fl.us/secretary/everglades/. I just think its ridiculous make the burmese the scape goat for all the everglades issues to help get more attention to support the rebuilding of the glades. Just because someone doesn't like the idea of a snake being kept as a pet, doesn't give them the right to take away my rights to keep them!
