Nice pics! That seems to be a great choice. I was in the camera store yesterday (wanted to get the Xmas shopping out of the way) and talking to them about replacing my 3 or 4 year old Kodac digital. Apparently that camera is the overwhelming choice of college photography students. The guy was kind of pushing the Nikon D40 but I've heard a lot more good things about the Canon.

One thing about the pic with Ron driving... umm, err, is he really short or does he just keep his seat on the floor for lower center of gravity?

Actually, he was not driving in the first 3 pics..... He was just sitting in the car in the second shot cause it was about 35 degrees with pretty strong winds!!!

I was initially going to get the Nikon D40x, but changed my mind when I got the XTI and 75-300mm Zoom lens for the price of the XTI. lol

I am told that the Canon XTi is much better than the Nikon D40, but much harder to learn.

The Nikon D40 is a great camera for the beginner and or novice.

Yeah, we have a bit of a dilema here. I'm not a pro by any means but I can work a manual and have an eye for good pics. The wife doesn't have any clue at all but insists on taking it out of point-n-shoot mode and then says it's a piece of crap and uses those damned disposables.... drives me wild. I can see an XTi in the near future.
