Ok folks, i was very pleasantly surprised today!!!! i just got my pred for christmas, and my new pcm couple of weeks ago. new pcm was for the pred, as i did not think my older version b&g would be read by the pred. for shits and grins i decided to see if the pred would work, cuz i have not gotten the new pcm flashed to the car yet. low and behold, the pred read my b&g pcm no problem!!!! woo-hoo!!!! i subsequently installed the 93 octane cai tune with raised shift points and reset tcm adaptives. man, i can REALLY tell a difference in the upper rpm ranges. car seems to shift much smoother and does not seem quite as delayed in finding a gear under partial throttle while in normal city traffic. one thing the latest version (18) does not do though, is shift with the same firmness as the b&g. i have the older versions to play with, so i might check them out. overall, i am very excited!!!! now, seeing as my b&g is saved as the "original tune" does this mean i can email it back to dave for some "tweaking"?????
Did you reduce the Torque Management? If not do it now.....that will make the shift just as strong as the B&G.
erik - i did not. when i got the options it was either on or off...... no "reduction" other than off. is this what you mean???? i left it on.

Chris, after messing with 16-18 versions I've found that 16a has the hardest shifts. Also, check out Diablosports forum as well: http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewforum&f=29 If you need 16a to try out I can email it to you.

rick - curtis emailed me the 16a version......now i just need to figure out how to load it onto my pred!!! when i hook up the pred to me computer, it gives me a message about not recognizing the usb software and not to proceed with the download????? anyway, i am going to play some more. right now, i like how the 18 version performs, but i do like the harder shifts!!! hahahahaa btw, what version are you running rick????
ummmm ron, its christmas and the turkey is coming out any moment.... i will eat and then spend some "quality" time with the family!!! hahahaha "quality" time with the pred / car will be later!!! hahahahaha still need to figure out how to load the other versions i got from curtis onto the pred so i can play around......:wallbash:
Did you download the USB drivers from the mini disk provided? If you did, I seem to remember when installing Jasons that it asked the same question...we said proceeded anyways!. I went back to 16a....I wasn't able to get those 2nd gear half tire chirps with 18. Have fun buddy...and remember to really lean out the car and mess with the spark advance a bunch!!! Hehehe
rick - i downloaded the dsdownloader from the diablo website. i am going to install the disk right now to see if i can get things going........ once i figure out how to friggin get my laptop to talk to my pred, then all will be fine..... oh yeah, did you ever change the fuel settings up the 3% like you mentioned???? just curious.....
I did add the 3% across the board. That seems to be the recommended amount. Diablosport mentions making the car a bit richer as well.
