Stg1 Check Engine Light!! Brand New!

SO I JUST WAITED 79 DAYS TO GET MY STAGE 1 FROM MPx AND i plugged in the is AM so i could drive it to work and Guess what???? starts up and BAM!!! check engine light fires off and she runs light $h!t!!!! What so i do? please help!!!! do i send it back to Flight systems and have them flash it again? am i simply out $500 and have to buy another one? is there some trick to pull the code and the clear it? btw the Odometer did not reset it self to the when ordered mileage.

 

I don't think the odometer is supposed to reset itself, I think that's just for the record when it's sold.

Have you contacted Modern yet?

Also, to pull the codes, cycle the ignition on/off 3 times and you should see all the codes then play out on the dash, where the mileage is normally indicated.

 

yeah get the code from your dash, then put the stock PCM back in and see if it runs fine again. that way you know its PCM and nothing else happened. make a phone call and you'll probally have to ship it back.

79 days!!! WTF!!! thats along time. on both our cars we waited a max of 2 weeks.

yeA! you are telling me!!! i ordered on march 26th got it yesterday @ 7pm off of fed-ex. Right now Flight systems is not taking any orders for any stage 1 kits. i did call MPx already and the guy was really rude. i think this will be my last item from them. I am going to switch her back to stock tonite after work. i am going to pull to code anyway and see what is says. i am going to bet that it is the pcm and just my luck... and it was like 83 days but that is crazy!!!

i have called MPx and the guy there was very Rude!! Treated me like i was a dumb @$$ so i think this will be my last item form them. they want the code and then i need to call them back. I'll try the 3 times on the key and see what she says. i also have a scanner ill pull it from there.

 

P0202 Falut Code Fuel Injector #2

so that is the code that came up on the Odometer. p0202. injector #2 on teh fault sheet off of the website. what do you guys think>?:dumb:

PCM related problem... injector driver is more then likely fried. Put your stock pcm back in and see what it does.

Your supposed to disconnect the negative battery terminal from your battery when swapping PCM's. Hope you didn't swap PCM's with the battery terminals still on the battery. That's more then likely how you fried it.

BTW, when I went S1, I ordered it through the dealership Monday and had it by Thursday. Should have went that way instead of MPx. I paid $520 for it through the dealership 2 yrs ago.

 

Yea it runs fine with the stock pcm. i took the - battery cable off for the install. FIRST thing i did before install!!! i am no dummy! Oh i know that now for ordering anything from MPx. that was my last purchase from them. The paper work for the stage one in the box says it was made in april. 1 to april 4 and i some how got it june 16th. On my PT GT i ordered from the Dealer and got it in 2 weeks. so anyway yep that is what i did. I will call stephine on MOnday. THanks So much. so it this a rebuilt thing or a reflash thing? and whats the $ for fixing?

 

Just making sure lol. I work on SRT-4's and I've seen some crazy stuff lol. To the point some owners shouldn't touch their cars haha. As for fixing the pcm that will be something to discuss with Stephanie as I have no idea how exactly this problem gets taken care of or even how much. I just researched your problem on srtforums to gather information on it.

Just some future advice, if you ever decide to order anything again from MPx. Call them first to make sure its in stock. I know the Stage PCM's are out of their control as all the Stage kits are done at Flight Systems and MPx doesn't have those in stock. But any other parts call first. That is what I always do, because sometimes they have things listed and might be out of stock but not updated on the site.

 

Hey man thanks for the update!! this whole thing could not of turned out worse than this so far. so from here i will bet on having to order a whole nother Stage 1 kit and spend another $500 on the kit! that way ill be ready for it. thanks!!!!!!:friends:

 

update!!!

so its now the 1st of Aug. and i still don't have my stage one so thats march 26th to Aug 1st. sent it back to mopar. moapr stated that the board is fried. was fried before i got it so that is great! in the mean time have the cold air intake and the mopar cat back and those are GREAT!!! This $uck$ A$$!

 

Wow. So you sent it to Mopar and not Flight Systems? I am confused.

You are positive you installed the PCM correctly when you first installed the Stage 1?

Good luck having MPX pay for it they will most likely blame it on user error.

 

You could always try to get a refund, and then get a Predator? If I didn't already have the stage 1, that is probably the way I'd go at this point.

 

yep i called Flight w/ no response. i then called mopar tech line and spoke with rich. i sent the stg1 to him since it was brand new. that was in july. he said that mopar would take care of it. i shipped it off to him. He then sent it to flight per Mopar's request to have it checked out. he called back said the mother board was fried and that even if i installed it w/ battery cables connected it could not have damaged the board that bad. then entire circuit for the #2 injector was burned up. so as of Monday the 3rd he ordred me a whole new one. so that should be here in 2 to 6 weeks. so at this point i am just happy that mopar is taking care of it for me. and yes MpX said that i installed it worng and that it is my problem. so no more stuff from them if i can help it.

too late. mopar is buying me a new one. so i hope it wirks out. in hind sight i should have bought my car 1 year ago and installed the stage 2 right of the bat but oh well..... i am just happy that mopar is willing to get me new one....

 

Thats good that Dodge is taking care of you. Hope you get it all back in a timely matter and all is well.

 

At this point i am just happy that they are taking care of it for me. this has been a total nightmare so far so i just want my stage 1 at this point.

Aug. 26th 2009. and still no computer!! I am past the point of caring now!

Yea!?!?!? i did that one already. since the bankruptcy all parts have been put on back order. including all stage kits. so ill just have to wait and see if i get one at all at this point. i could very well be out $500 now.

yea so i got my stage 1 computer ..... Nov. 23rd. work great now that it is installed. but that was Feb. 26th to Nov. 23rd!
