So I'm done with this damn "pregnancy diet" to prevent me from getting fat. Hell, I'm not getting fat, I'm having diabetic seizures and migraines instead. So tater tots, ice cream and oreos here I come!! Gotta do something to keep the baby from cannibalizing me! :suspect:

Oh no, I'm NOT one of those dumbasses who wonder why she still looks pregnant three years after she had the baby. Apparently that's my problem. But yeah, I'm done with the healthy diet, since I can't eat enough of it to keep the baby from killing me. :tomato:

And yes, the reason I'm posting this is that I had both a diabetic seizure AND a migraine this weekend, and so on top of having a baby that I can't eat enough for, I have a husband who's having kittens any time my blood sugar is any where south of 90. *sigh*

Tamara is your blood sugar a "low" issue instead of "high"?...my wife had high sugar problems right at the end of her pregancy...

Yep. Usually my dieticians are dealing with women who have a problem with gestational diabetes who DO eat too much while they're preggers. Unfortunately, I'm a juvenile diabetic who's not in love with food, especially not healthy food and thus my problems this weekend. Yay for being the exception to the norm. And yeah, I am watching my sugars and yeah I want to live to see my kiddo.

Just bitching, cause it sucks when you're NOT the normal type and it means you have issues like these, and it means your hubby gets ta worry about ya while you're sleeping and while your driving and well..all the damn time..bleh..I WILL be glad when this preggers thing is done... wheeeeeeee

Well, I was blacked out, so I didn't know what I was doing. He said I was huddled in a defensive posture, and saying "Fever!" over and over again. When he tried interacting with me I just said "No!" Thankfully, he went and got some ginger ale and got me to swallow and I came out of it. That evening I had a mother of a migraine, so I've been on ginger ale and jello until about mid-day today. I'm not even halfway thru this pregnancy and its kicking my ass!

Haha I know the feeling. Mine has a short cervix right now which means if she pushes it by being on her feet too much baby could pop out. Which means she is on bed rest till 34 weeks (total of 10 weeks). So every cramp, twinge etc. I'm changing my shorts. :stretcher:

My wife, after just given birth 12/7/07, did the following:

Ate like normal. Maybe a bit more, depending if she was hungry, but she ate until satisfied, and she ate her normal stuff, minus caffeine, etc.

Before pregnancy, she liked chicken... during it, she HATED chicken, but loved steak. Go figure.

Just monitor the weight via your doctor. If you're within range, you're all good. Just be sure to take the prenatal vitamin daily.

Went for my OB appointment today, baby's fine and I'm finally gaining weight, so things are looking up. Just gotta fine tune my insulin pump to deal with the low blood sugars. I'm thinking after this, the predator (when/if I get it) will be a piece of cake.

Well, I knew my diabetic doctor (endocrinologist) was cool, when he compared my situation to a ferrari, versus normal people being volkswagens or hondas. Basically, I need a lot more fine tuning than your average person, but when I get that fine tuning, I'm as healthy if not healthier than most folks, but when I break down...its BAD.
