Stage 3 only holds 14 psi at redline, need help

Just get a 50 trim cause u don't have to worry about spiking and holding it just holds what ever you set it to

 

Tah he he he. Or he could get a external gate on the S# fold with the flapper welded shut.

When you are running an internal gate setup its going to lose boost to redline. I would be very happy holding 18 to redline knowing stock turbo holds around 11 or so to redline with stock WGA of course.

 

There's really nothing to it. There's only so much it could be.

The problem lies when people to start slapping mods and messing with multiple things making the problems worse and hard to pin point the actual source of the problem.

I'd like to know how you ruled out the AGP wga.

Did you install this kit yourself?

Boost leak test the car again... up to 25psi.

Any exhaust leaks?

Did you give the pcm time to learn the wga? Did you reset the pcm when you changed wga's?

How many times have you reset the pcm since you started having problems with boost?

Turbo have any shaft play?

Is the wga flapper fully shut with the wga on it?

 

Big question... What blow off valve are you running.. If its the stock surge valve or the stock surge valve with the Mopar plate thats a good canidate as what the problem is... Since it doesn't like to hold boost well.

 

you should def do the external wga. look at pt-performance. they have s3 mani with it already to go for like $200. I think you will like it better.

 

so how much psi you running and how much does it hold??????? Curious cause mine drops off to...

 

Funny, I had a similar problem with PCM controlled boost on my S3. It would only boost 16psi, max, all the time. When I'd reset the PCM, it would hit 23psi for a few moments, then immediately and permanently pull back to 16psi. I boost leak tested it, changed the plugs, blah blah did everything I could imagine, adjusted the AGP S3 WGA, replaced ALL vac lines, replaced the solenoid, and on and on.

Final solution: Turbosmart MBC

Now it hits 25psi and holds about 20-21psi at redline, consistently. No idea what went flakey with the PCM controlled boost...

 

Possibility of the DAB feature no longer working or working improperly.

Especially since you say it was only boosting 16psi. Which 16-18psi = DAB 0 on a AGP wga on PCM controlled boost. So if it stayed there in the other DAB settings then the fuse could have blown or the DAB switch/knob/dial itself went bad or some other part/function in the DAB feature.

Going to an MBC and being able to raise boost just gives it away that it was something to do with DAB or a problem with it.

 

Yah, I'll have to check the fuses out when I get my car back, it's getting the tranny rebuilt right now. It would be nice to have DAB back again, especially cuz 25psi in 1st/2nd gear is useless.
