This driver has mad skills and kept the car out of the wall, sort of. This happened at the ABQ Dragway last night. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Slight-mishap-at-the_683807.htm Here is a list of things that went wrong. You need to listen carefully on the clip that has no music... There were a few things going on. 1) Car was staged wrong (pointing to the left) 2) Left the line out of boost 3) While car was getting back in the groove, boost kicked in, lost traction... And no, the Ambulance drive did NOT follow proper protocol. My hats off to the drive for keeping the car under control. The ONLY damage to the car was to the wheelie bar and some scuffs on the rear fin.
if that crew worked on my ride it would have been there last weekend. that went all bad before the tree came down.
The scarrriest thing about that film is the DUMBASS driving the ambulance! Ooh!!! Ooh!!! Ooh!!! We get to turn our lights on and go run out on the track! It bears repeating... What a DUMBASS! And yes, whoever lined him up after his burn out, should be kicked in the nutsack!
why would the driver keep his foot in it even after hes off course? i mean its not like hes gonna recover for a good run after that.
wow, nothing went right in that video. Glad there was only minimal damage though. Crashes at these kind of races are always scary.
Being of the profession (ambulance), those guys had their blinders on big time. I bet they were volunteers maybe even hired by the track. My former track had a used ambulance and hired one EMT to "staff" the ambulance. The ambulance didn't have any supplies and was basically a showpiece. We (local ambulance service) wouldn't even hire the poor guy who worked there.
Nope, these are actual EMT's. In the Ambulance drivers defense, he saw the car hit the right lane wall, then make a 90* left turn towards the left lane wall. Obviously, the A driver thought the worst and lost site of the car and began to haul ass to save a persons life, which is evident when the A driver immediately turns into the right lane. Unknown to the A driver that the race driver gained full control of his car and proceded down the track back in his own lane... Yes, the A driver, or at least the shotgun EMT should have taken a second look down the track to see where and what happened... It is a double edged sword here. The EMT's get yelled at for NOT getting to the scene fast enough. EMT's react quickly and yet again, make a wrong decision.
