No not in my SRT-8, but in my '68 Camaro.

After lots of delays, bad weather, canceled races, etc., I finally made my first passes in the completely rebuilt Camaro drag car last night.

I still think I can shave about .10 to .15 seconds, but for now, I'm pumped:

Yes - I'm the car in the left lane. 60' time was 1.230 seconds.

I'd like to see 8.1xx but that's about it.

It feels like what it looks like on Start Trek when they go into warp drive. Your eyes literally blur the first couple of times until you're used to it. On the top end, the track starts to feel pretty narrow. The "thrust" doesn't stop for the entire 8+ seconds.

At the end of the pass, I'm literally shaky from the huge adrenaline rush. I'm sure that will go away, but I can honestly say it is the biggest adrenaline rush I have ever experienced.
    Thanks man.

    And thanks to you too.

Do you have to work out so you're in good enough shape that you don't pass out? and for reaction time, etc?

Ha! If you did I wouldn't be able to participate. You practice reaction time, but forward G's don't pull blood from your brain like turning F's do to fighter pilots. So even top fuel dragsters have no G-force issues.

    (but it's still a rush!)

Holy crap...163 mph?? Do you have to have a chute on that thing?

Yes. And I do. Didn't use it though. But only because my track has a half mile shutdown. It takes me 3/8th mile to stop without the chute. (about 2000')
