Due to the recent ring land failure of my stock cylinder 1 piston, we need to replace the motor in order to keep on racing and testing products for you guys. I want to continue to run the Techco supercharger, but want to be able to turn up the boost so forged internals are a must, of course.

Our new set-up will be the first in a couple of ways, as it's the first 395 stroker Techco is building, and we will also have the first ported Techco supercharger! Here are all the specs ...

397 cubic inch (6.5L) by Techco ... first one!!

    Bore: 3.937
    Stroke: 4.080
    Compression Ratio: 8.5:1

Pistons: Techco reverse dome, tool steel pins
    Rod: H-beam forged by K1
    Crankshaft: Forged by K1
Heads: Techco CNC Ported, beehive valve springs

Ported Techco Supercharger ... first one!!
    Boost: :D
    Belt: Gilmer (cog)

A very special thank you to Carlos and Billy at Techco for making this new engine and supercharger possible, and for choosing us to run their first 395 and first ported supercharger. For those who aren't familiar with the extensive background of the Techco crew, they were responsible for all the Saleen engines over the past 10+ years, including the Saleen Mustangs, Parnelli Jones Mustang and the Saleen S7 super car to name a few. With a complete state-of-the-art machine shop, all the machine work and assembly of their engines will be done in-house.

We are going to be doing some cool things once this car is done, so stay tuned to this thread and our forum for all the updates along the way including transmission, rear end and fuel upgrades which are in the works!

    Lisa.

We are sending out Lisa's 5.7 to Techco, they will be re-using the block for the build, and returning the Longblock to us here to do the install. The runners on the S/C will be ported to match the new ported heads.

    Lisa,
What did your heads look like after you broke the land? I just broke some on my 6.1 with my STS turbo. We haven't taken off the heads yet but I'm hoping beyond hope they are reusable.

I updated the specs in my first post as we are going to run 8.5:1 compression in order to pull a few tricks out of the bag. :) More to follow!!

We are working with Techco on the new engine specs as they will be creating official names tomorrow for their stroker motors and the ported supercharger ... so I have another update on mine. The cubic inch is going to be 397 and that equates to 6.5L and the bore is 3.937.

BTW, for anyone wanting a 6.1 based stroker from Techco, we will have those available also, and it will be a 427 cu in.

It keeps getting better and better!!

I got some pics of my new rotating assembly from Techco and these components look sweet!! :D Crank and rods by K1 and the pistons are by CP ... all to Techco's unique specs. Check out the reverse dome pistons, which are dished to match the design of the combustion chamber with the heads. I'm loving those especially, and the nice dish will make the low compression ideal for running high boost. :) Here are some pics!!

Techco has torn down my blown engine and will be building the new one now that the parts have arrived. I can't wait!!

8.5 : 1...... wow, that is low. i understand for running up the boost. obviously this car will never be without a blower of some sort. why so low on the ratio??? just curious....

I too am repalcing a blown motor. Looks like one of the valve springs on my Indy heads broke. Block and heads were destroyed. Oh well, just a reason to build it back bigger and better.
