Last year I entered a local car show sponsored by mustangtrends.com, the event was held at the Waco,TX Hooters and was one of the best car shows I have ever been to and entered (won best Mopar). The event sold out and there were over 150 entries and the empty lot next door was full of cars parked with spectators. A few monts ago I was approached by the coordinator of the event to 2nd chair the show for this year. We decided on a few changes but the biggest was to dontae proceeds to a charity, organization, shelter or whatever. Then I came acrosss this through my Real Estate Connections and thought to ourselves how can we NOT do something for this child:

This is Clay scroll down to the bottom where the blog begins, like I said last night it is a very tough read if you have kids it really hits home.
    http://claydavidfite.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

"Clay was admitted to the Parkland Memorial Hospital today for extensive burns over his little body. Chance had put a bag of trash in the burn barrel and started the fire then went into town for some things. Carson (age 10), Cody (age 6 - will be 7 on Feb 23) and Clay were out playing in the yard and decided that the fire had burned down too low and needed a little "help" to finish off the trash. One of the boys grabbed a can of gas out of the storage shed and coaxed another to "put it on the fire." Clay had climbed up close to make sure the job was done right, and as the gas hit the fire, it mushroomed up into the sky. Deidra was in the house and heard the explosion and immediately ran out the back. The front of Carson's pant leg was on fire and he managed to get it out then helped put out the fire that had started in the yard and on the fence. Cody was hitting flames off the back of his neck and somehow extinguished them. He only suffered minor burns to the back of his neck and a burn on the back of his right ear and singed hair. Although his brothers were partially protected by the burn barrel itself, Clay was right in the line of the fire, and when DeeDee saw him he was engulfed in flames. In DeeDee's panic, she grabbed the water hose and doused Clay to put out the fire. The 911 call that DeeDee placed claimed that they could not pinpoint the address. With 911 on the line and calling Chance from her cell phone, Chance ended up arriving within seconds from the grocery store. Chance immediately scooped up Clay and had him at the hospital in no time. The two other boys were taken to the hospital, treated and released. Clay ended up with burns on his face, head, back, stomach, arms, hands. He was wearing boots and jeans so the lower parts of his legs are fine. Clay was flown to Dallas with his dad by his side. Some friends drove DeeDee (she was in no condition to drive)to Dallas and they arrived within 15 minutes of the helicopter. Clay is in critial condition in the Burn Intensive Care Unit here at Parkland Memorial Hospital. The wonderful care of the staff in the burn unit has been great. Not only the staff, but other families of burn victims have been a huge help to the Fite family during this time. "

We are wanting to make the trophies a little different and Lance recalled a show he went to where all the trophies were made out of Pistons so I am asking any of you Vendors or Gear Heads that may have some Pistons you would like to donate we will add your name to a banner that will be displayed at the event and that will be given to the Fite family after the show along with the proceeds.

I read the blog everyday, some days I am in tears as I can only think if it were my son I would be a mess and the thoughts that are going through that little boys mind each day and the LONG road he has for the rest of his life.

We are contemplating opening up a paypal account for contributions but not sure if that is appropriate or not yet we are still working on a meeting with the Fite Family to discuss the details.

Thanks to all who can help.

    -Wade

Well its this weekend, here is a sneak peek of an almost finished trophy and yes it is a piston decided to be different.
I would of liked to of had a few more items to raffle off but most vendors are strapped as it is, heck these pistons we pulled ourselves, sand blasted, primed and painted ourselves only the plaque was bought.

WOW totally did not expect this. You have no idea how much I appreciate this we've done so well over the last few months on not spending too much money that way we can donate more to the family so anything helps. Your a good man Kyle:huglove:

Want to thank Spencer for the very, very generous golf package he put together easily worth $1,000. 8 rounds of golf all inclusive, carts, 2 very nice golf shirts and 2 hats plus some nice golf balls.
