Hi guys .. couple questions .. I am installing ma coilovers soon .. - I didnt see anything in the How-To section, anyone do a write up?? - Anything I should look out for .. - There's no wiring right!?!?1 :stars: j/k feedback ... - For street use .. your clicks are what - For track use ... your clicks are what - Who has these things lowered all the way .. - How much can/should I lower before rubbing issues. - I have a track day on the 30th .. is going too LOW possible on running a road course?? Advice / Information appreciated ... I love you guys
know exactly how low you want to go in the rear...... they ARE NOT easily adjustable once in. i have my rears set at full drop. you can't really run the car at full drop in the front without tearing up the fender lips every time you turn or hit a bump!!! trust me i know the hard way!!!
Too low on a road course is definitely possible, you can grind your fascia and rockers on the corner strips. Mine are not bottomed out, but I didn't measure where they're at either- sorry. Street use - right in the middle Track use - still experimenting, but I like 4 (of 16) clicks up from the tightest they get There is a how-to do the swap on lxforums. After doing 5 or 6 now, I think I can do them in my sleep. Let me know if you have any questions.
can either of you guys give me the measurement from the ground to the top of your wheelwells on both the front and back? Adam and Chris .. I appreciate your input.
As far as lowering goes, I found that bottoming out the rears are good. I experimented with the front and had them as low as 9 complete rotations from the bottom and it bent the outer top portion of the fender well on aggressive turns. I moved it back up to twelve complete rotations from the bottom. As far as rebound goes, I'm right around where Adam mentioned. The KW's have 18 settings. I've found that 3-6 from the tightest work really good on smoother roads/courses. For daily driving I usually have them at right in the middle at 9. I also have cut ugly holes in the trunk so I can adjust the rears as well. I've found that since my rear tires are wider than the fronts (see signature) that I adjust the front rebound a little tighter and add a little more air to the front tires to dial out some of the understeer I was experiencing. Hope this helps!
thanks chief! Bud ... I fully got what your saying, the only question that came up is .. when you said 3 - 6 clicks from the tightest .. do you set the same amount of clicks for the front AND rear .. ie: 3 clicks from fully tight front AND rear or maybe 3 clicks front, 6 clicks rear ..
I have only 1 thing to say here.... No matter how much they push and push do not let friends install yours for you. Because 1 out of the 2 that help will fuck it up
http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showpost.php?p=283865&postcount=14 anyhoodle. I am set for full hard on all 4 corners currently, I also have more than 50% of the threads left on the strut for drop. You are going KWs right?
bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha How TRUE that is Chrissy poo. Yes there is Anthony. Ask me about it next week at Spring Festival. haha
I'm not sure if it is the same for the LX's, but when I set up my c/o I was using a measurement from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fenders. I know what it should be for the Neon, but not for the LX's. Maybe you can get someone with c/o on their LX to furnish that measurement for you, it might help in setting the height you want.
Megan Racing coilovers .. I have to fix the sig ... They really are a nice setup and I have talked to evil pete on lxf about them and he is happy. Long term quality .. I guess we will see ... ahhh .. I just posted a thread about that Ron ... Yeah I was kinda looking for the same thing when I asked for the ground to wheel well dimension from someone .. no one has chipped in yet, but a center of hub to bottom of fender dimension will work too .. anyone ...
One more thing...with my car, the c/o heights vary. That is they are set to different lengths to get my 13" hub to fender. When I had one set I measured the length of the c/o and set the others based on the first c/o. It didn't work with my car. I had one set right and 1 that was WAY off. Just an FYI, so you don't set everything up one way, then have to take the wheels off again to fix it. That is also why I found from the center of the hub to fender to be useful. You can check that with the wheel off.
I dropped my MSRT8 and before the drop it was 31" in the front and 31-1/4 in the rear. I didnt use coilovers though, i used Sportlines and Pedders shocks all around and i got a full two inch drop. 29" in the front and 29-1/8 in the rear. Looks and drives GREAT!!!!!
.... so the install is going well. The rear is completely disassembled and ready for the coilovers, rotors, pads, sway end links when they come in tomorrow. I'm excited .. Everyone is saying to back the coilovers ALL THE WAY down so thats what I'm gonna do .. now I will know that both rears are the same height ... now .. if I dont go all the way down in the front .. how can I tell if the left side is at the exact high as the right .. counting revolutions, takings measurements, numbers of threads showing?!?! keep in mind I'm not looking at the new coilovers yet so I'm just trying to get an idea in my head before they arrive. ..
