After about 60 or more runs with the heads/cam/headers/TC and drag radials I broke a halfshaft. I just put on some used MT Street bias-ply cheater slicks (I was using the MT drag radials up till then). I had an hour cool down before the run and loaded my best tune for the track. I was the first up for the evening and when I did a burnout I felt the rpms drop quickly as I gained instant traction. I pulled forward a tad and gassed it. It spun as I rolled forward and grabbed a little. I knew I was going to have a great 60' so I brought rpms up to 2500 or so at the starting line and when I gave it the beans - BLAMMO! Much louder than going into limp mode. As I was being pushed off the track I could hear clanking from my rear driver's side wheel. Luckily I got the AAA Premium package with 100 mile towing (to SVS in Sacramento). My wife drove up my '09 Chally axles and hubs for the swap. I hope they are as strong as I think they are. I wonder what my 60' would have been if I hadn't broke an axle. Felt like an awesome hook just before the bang.

I'm in the two broken halfshaft club. I think the only one on the Connection. Hell I ran a 1.73 60' breaking my halfshaft at about the 45 to 50 foot mark. My car was the 1st in the country with HD halfshafts.
Bob at SVS says my driver's side is broken and my passenger side is jammed in the differential and doesn't want to come out. I may be in the "two broken halfshafts and one broken differential club" in one shot .... I hope not. I got to drive down for the spring festival on Monday. Last year my ankle was broken, this year my car is broken.

Too funny! My diff is fused to the passenger side axle. I'll be sporting my '01 Ford Focus down to the festival Oh well.
I'm leaving Monday for Disneyland and the new 226 rear end and half shafts won't be in until the following Monday.
man thats a shame .. well enjoy Disneyland anyway!!! I wanna go ... its been 6 years!!! we just got there .. I ran to one of the characters, little bit excited!
