today has been the first full day WITHOUT painkillers since the 26th! HOLY CRAP I feel great! I am getting around 100 times better, pain is meerly feeling the staples in my leg nothing bad at all.

Billy and my buddy Joel hung out for a few hours really helped my attitude. What really helped my attitude the most was putting on a pair of Jeans instead of the cargo shorts I have been tromping around in.

Now all I need is my loud petal foot to work right again and I will be a happy camper!

 

YaY.....thats awesome....im glad your getting better and glad to hear the pain is down.....

 

Lil update,
I have been off of painkillers for 5 days, today was my first completely pain free day.

I had my surgical follow up and rewrap everything is healing up good. This was the first time I had seen my leg since I broke it.

attached is a picture of the carnage (sorry for the quality) as you can see it is still swelling pretty bad.

 

Ouch. Looks good though.

actually is what got me into my current line of work. unfortunately for me, they had to fuse my ankle in order to save my foot. i am with ya brotha......sucks for sure!!! go pop some more drugs.....lol

 

Thanks Chris! Tomorrow is my checkup, that will be 2 days short of 5 weeks since surgery... Staples come out, x-rays, and HOPEFULLY the boot... I will be walking with a cane for a while during PT, but i am stoked about getting the staples out.

My checkup should have been 2 weeks ago but because of the holidays I got boned... So the 5th was the first time they could get me in.

My work has been amazing to me through this!

 

Oww with the swelling. I tore tendons in my right ankle a long time ago and spent a while in the nice hot whirlpool trying to get rid of the edema I incurred.

It's healing up, so don't kick anything heavier than a marshmallow!

 

gee i wonder why!!! lol it did happen on the job right??? hopefully you do not have to spend years with HUGE screws in your ankle only to end up having them removed after two of them TIGHTENED and began to have the very sharp pointed end protrude through the bone and ultimately the skin!!!! :hypno:

 

Well survived the shittiest Thanksgiving/Bday/Xmas/New Years possible. Yesterday was the first day I was able to walk with a boot and a cane. Talk about liberating. I still have a long way to go, monday will mark 2 full months where I have been "laid up"

Every step is excruciating but liberating all the same breath hence why I keep with my PT schedule.

they went to lowes and got them and charged u 1k for them lol looks like 2" wood screws
