I must have misunderstood him. It was in a forged 6.1 with valve reliefs in the pistons. He says this cam at 218/222 112LSA will work with stock heads.

I love the way it sounds. http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x281/PPP-Tech/Video/?action=view&current=CIMG9970.flv

That could be a SRT Max on a 112 LSA...PPP on their Stg. 1 6.1 now, previously the 6.1 Road Warrior I believe. Basically, with cams, if they are similar grinds, you will probably not notice any difference between them. Best to figure out what you want, and talk to a company who gives you the best service. I was impressed with Stu's service...

I have always liked Stu and everyone that has his stuff seems to be very happy. If Stu can grind me a cam that sounds like that blue RT and performs well I will be a happy camper. It appears the SRT Max has the same specs as the PPP cam in the video with the only difference being the LSA. What is the lift on the SRT Max? Will it run ok with the stock heads/valve springs?

Not sure what the lift is...I could dig out my cam card if I was at home. The cam will work with stock heads and springs.

The cams that use 6.1 springs I normally use a 0.556 or 0.566 lift lobe on but the 6.1 intake will take a 0.580 before you have retainer to seal clearance problems. I tweak the LSA for every application so you may see an SRT Max with every LSA from 111 to 116 depending on the application.

Stu, I am starting to lean towards a Spartan Max on a 112LSA but I'm just waiting to hear back from jarz on what the lift/duration are. What are your thoughts on a Spartan Max 112 in the jeep?

I like the Spartan Max for the Jeep. 112 will be a strong top end cam if you have a 2800-3000 stall converter. With a stock converter I think I'd go with a 114 or possibly 113 LSA to reduce overlap and get a little more bottom end power. The lift is 0.566/0.566 with the Spartan Max.
