O.K. I try not to street race much (no, seriously :shifty: ) but every now and then my manhood takes control of my cerebral cortex, and well...whalla! So the guy pulls up to me at a light, smiles points forward and revs...we blast, we ran for about a mile. I gotta say, I was farking SHOCKED, I truly thought i'd rock this car; as i have MANY BMW cars, but it didn't happen. There was no doubt who won, the SRT ended up perhaps a full car length ahead when we hit the final light, and stopped. However, I thought, think, I should have raped this car? no? perhaps a Dinan tune and parts? I just was quite surprised he stayed so close? In the end, at the final light, we roll down the glass and give props to the run, and he says "dude, that thing is FAST, way too fast for being that big and heavy, I really thought i'd take you in that curve corner, but couldn't" :king: There was a fairly docile corner in this mile run, but we hit it at about (don't crucify me law abiders, I was a junkie for the race at that point) 110mph and the SRT cornered it like magnet  he gained not an inch in that turn, so it was quite interesting. Anyhow, any member explain this race? and its close result? cheers Bryan
he was prob running either sleeper badges on an e39 m5 or he was had a shit load of bolt ons, heads, headers, exhaust, tune, etc. my brother in law has a 02 m5 that i can barely squeak by in the quarter, you should be a lot faster than my mildly modded 5.7. if it was a 540 it must have been an e39....1998 to 2003
with out commenting on the street aspect...you went 0 to a mile.:shok: How fast were you going when you let up?
Thanks for the opinions gents :bye: well, I don't really know the year, by my eys? perhaps like 'darkne55' wrote, looked like an 2002? (i'm no BMW expert) but it was NOT a newer (05-up) car. LOX...well, my heart was pumping fairly hard to be constantly looking at the speedo, but the last i looked (about 300 yards from the stop) I was at 141 :sorry: dumb, I know, but at least it was a lightly traveled road, and there were ZERO cars on the entire road as we raced :zorro:
