Ok, a couple of weeks ago I got a ticket. 130 in a 45. It was right out of the construction zone on I-40 going west. To tell you the truth it was a kill on an older mustang but I didn't want to post it up because I didn't know how it was going to turn out legally and all.

Well I went to court today and my lawyer got it dismissed on a technicality! The officer convienently forgot to sign the ticket so it was rendered void! I couldn't believe it. Not out of the woods yet since the officer still has six months to re-file so I'll be on good behavior for a while just incase.

I ended up paying either way but hopefully this will stay off my record, and my insurance... :good:

tell me about it! I didn't even realize I had got up there. The mustang was only a car length behind when we started to slow down. Oh well...

I had a similar lucky break with a speeding ticket and the Charger. Cop clocked me doing 101 but wrote it up as an 85 in a 70. And I got to take a driver's course for it instead of getting points. Before that, yeah I did stupid stuff on freeways too. Now I just save it for the drag strip or the road course. Nice controlled environment and no tickets.

Yeah the sheriff was coming on to 40 on the carlise ramp and I was approaching from behind. I had just passed the mustang when I looked up and saw him merging. Ugh! I was even thinking I shouldn't do it but my ego got the best of me. LUCKY indeed.

Let me get this straight...you racing a Mustang...him 1 car behind at 130mph...and all you got was a speeding ticket...one that he forgot to sign even...I'm gonna call that one beyond lucky.

Do you know if the cop got the Mustang too, or was it just you? If he got the Mustang too, I'd be curious how his ticket played out.

no he didn't get the mustang. The mustang got in the far left lane and I went to the right lane to pull over and the sheriff was in front of me kinda blocking me. I was looking over at the mustang as he went by. I can pretty much guess what he was thinking.

I thought I was going to jail for sure.

Oh yeah, he did't even say anything about the mustang either. He just gave me the third degree for a few minutes. I think he might have been an SRT fan because he commented on the car a few times and looked it over.

Mike, dude you are so fricken lucky. You know how much this city has been about street racing and the like... Be GLAD the is was BCSO and NOT APD or State (and the State Police HQ is right where you were at).

You should have went and bought a Lottery Ticket. lol

BCSO guys are GREAT. I know quite a few of the Sheriff's and most are gear heads. haha

I seriously doubt he will refile? It seems to me that he gave you the ticket for PR reasons (passer by's) and knew full well that by not signing the ticket, and you fought it, it would be dismissed.

BCSO hates giving tickets in ABQ city limits because the county only gets about 5% of the money received. I think you will be ok.

130 on I-40 by Carlisle???!?!?! And you got away with it?!?!?! Shit I would have bought a lottery ticket and flown to Hollywood, knocked on Christina Aguileras door and asked her to have sex with me.

In my opinion, if the cop pulled me over at that speed, he would a took at my license, tried to pronounce my name, and then just tazed my ass. LOL!
