I pretty much followed this thread ... http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=119318 the install took about 30 minutes .. couple things .. 1. you will have to drill a hole for a clip .. use a 1/4in bit. 2. the strut covers will need to be ground down in a corner but they will fit if you want to put them back on .. 3. drivers side upper screw washer needs to be ground down for clearance .. screw ground down on belt sander .. now the strut cover .. final pic ... AND THE CARS GETTING PROFESSIONALLY DETAILED NEXT WEEKEND SO DONT BE DICKS!!! THANK YOU!
very cool....... is that a burr-king grinder in your garage????? and i thought i had some cool grinders! hahahahaha
Im sorry what did you say?Im too busy spakin it to your avatar.Good lord. And if thats your wife Im sorry for being disrespectful. But Im still gonna spank it:ilovesrtc:
LOL! blow me John .... blow me Chris .... :stupid::stupid: Scott, if that was my wife, do you seriously think I would spend all this time on the forums talking to all these homos?!?!?!?!
Great job Anthony. I am a bit surprised that one of the bolts needs to be ground down? One would think the kit would come with a replacement screw?
nope .. the stock cross member brace thingy screws are about 2" long with about a 3/4 to 1" diameter washer on them. On the driver side outer bolt, the washer rubs against the side of the strut brace mounting plate, so the washer doesnt sit flat .. I ground it down so much so that the bolt will sit flat and fully tighten. OR you can just see if you have find a smaller OD washer with the same ID ..
Well that is my point. If we spend XXX amount of dollars for a part, it should include everything needed. We should not have to run to the hardware store for bolts or washers, or should we have to grind parts (most people do not have a grinder or belt sander lol). JMHO... Glad you shared that though.
oh I hear you Ronny ... Most people probably would have let the slanted hung up washer go, I had a belt sander there so I figured WTF ... To be honest, I am wildly entertained by all the sparks that fly off, so anytime I get an opportunity to grind something, I'm gonna do it
ummm so I just wanted to give you guys an update on the handling of my car after this install and ... for $250 that they are, GET ONE. The car has never been so tight, I absolutely love it ... now the only issue is .. you start driving harder into corners and turns, it makes the back want to get loose too .. so for $200 (2pt) or $250 (4pt) GET A BACK ONE TOO! I will post pics later this week when my 2 pt comes ....
