Dishnet channel BBCA (135). Originally aired today. Been on a couple of times. I guess Dodge didn't get the Challenger there for them so they bought one in San Francisco. automatic. They drive the cars from SF to Reno to the salt flats and do the standing mile. 150 for the Challenger, 163 for the Cadillac and 176 for the ZR1
this was on awhile ago. its been on youtube for a couple months now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWwXsdNpqxA only a part but you can find the rest.
That's funny. That part wasn't on the show at all (must have been cut). Also I didn't know they had that kind of range on the keyless fob. You'd think they could have made the lock/unlock stuff long range and the ignition short range?
:rofl::rofl: At first I thought the key less fob was a cool option, that makes me reconsider some. It's kinda scary how far he got the car to go. Would have like to see him go until the car stopped, but oh well.
haha, yeah dave. it was part of a special that aired in nov if i recall correctly. the small town where that video (above) was taken was just outside reno on their way to the salt flats. they must have recorded it earlier though right when the chally was released because its way too warm in reno (from their clothing and lack of snow) for this time of year. as far as the keyless entry goes, its amazing to me how cheap and crappy dodge is. merc, lexus, bmw, etc all dont have a problem like that. my gs430 would actually tell me if the key fob was outside the window when i was testing it out. the dash would read "key not present" when i had my arm sticking out the window with the fob in hand.
Yea I just watched that episode Monday (I've been waiting for it) and was surprised that they liked all 3 cars too being they're so Anti-American (personally I think some of that is for entertainment). They didn't seem to like the Chally as much as the others but I gotta say it looked sooooooooooooooo bad azz driving around, way cooler than either the CTS or the Vette. They also gotta remember that regardless of how much they paid for it the Chally is a good $25K less that the CTSv and waaaaaaaaay less than the Vette. Btw, anyone catch the reason as to WHY they didn't have a Chally to start with?? Lol, they said it was cause Chry didn't give them one cause they didn't like the way they reviewed their previous cars (300 SRT8 ring a bell, lol). Here's to Chry for standing up for itself!!!!!!!!:beerchug:
Sounded like they expected one (had arranged for it) to be there so I'm guessing it was some delivery screw up or last second change in plans?
Did you record it? Watch it again, Clarkson says something about Chry not lending them once cause of the way they tested their other cars (I can only think of the 300 SRT8 that they ripped to shreds).
Yep, you're right. He said Chrysler changed their minds at the last minute because "They said we're always horrid about their cars".
BBC America shows are actually a year old. And quite a lot is cut out of them due to commercial time. ..... Is the BBC in UK like PBS is here? Meaning, there are little to no commercials? It still pisses me off they intentionally set shows back a full year in the USA. Most of the new season is on Streetfire tho. :bigwink: I watched this episode a few months ago on there (in it's entirety). Still watched it last night to see it on the big TV, and was pissed they cut so much out. :getlost:
yeah, bbc america sucks, but if you have directv, you should be able to buy the real bbc. i should look into it haha.
I don't think BBC America is a year behind but I could be wrong, I thought I just read about Top Gear being at Bonneville last fall and here's the episode on Monday. Steve I have Directv and you can only get BBC America. Yep, they trashed the 300 SRT8 vs a Bimmer years ago, I think it was 05 or early 06, it was a joke, they really ripped into the 300. It was actually uncalled for really. That's what's so funny here, first that in this last episode Chry refused to give them a Chally AT THE LAST MINUTE (that was a big middle finger to them, haha!), and also they seemed to actually like the Chally when we all know it's the basically the same car underneath as the 300 so what's the deal?!?! Top Gear being ... well Top Gear.
guys remember, they were comparing the 300 with the m5. it wasnt that they didnt like the car, they said it had a great amount of power and torque. they were talking about how bad it compared to the m5. which is totally understandable. hell, who here rides a stock suspension? KW and hotchkis sways are one of the first mods we do to our cars and still they ride like shit. anyone who has driven an m5 or m6 can tell you without a doubt that the ride and cornering of both cars doesnt compare in any regard.
