At the end of last year I picked up Jim's (aka rubbel) 2009 Challenger SRT8 in Tampa, and brought it here for what will become an outrageous build! The goal is a 800 rwhp NHRA certified drag race car that is also capable of being a daily driver and a car show beauty! We have teamed up with the best in the business to make this project top-notch, and are having a number of parts custom made as well ... it's exciting to be the first to do some of these truly extreme modifications. We have already been contacted by manufacturers about magazine write-ups!

Special thanks in advance to PPP for creating a one-of-a-kind 426 stroker and to Techco for the brand new reverse revolution twin-screw supercharger, which is the heart of the new beast! As we begin the build, I'll post up all the details about the parts we're using including pics, write-ups and information on rubbel's build. So stay tuned ... LOTS to come over the next several weeks!

Here's Jim and his Challenger, as they were last seen together when he handed over the keys to me ... stock. :D

Thank you Jim, for choosing us for this project!!

To kick off the build for rubbel, we had a 10-point NHRA certified roll cage custom-built by Anthony at Race Car Builders. So, his car has been at the cage builder all week, getting a full 10-point roll cage with removable door bars, all in chromoly and painted black. We got some pics of the progress, thus far, which is just of the raw chromoly cage being built in the car. Anthony does such a nice job because you cannot see the cage from outside the car. The sun visors and rearview mirror all work as they did from the factory and the only thing we have to relocate is the rear package tray speakers.

Yesterday the cage was removed, painted black, and was welded into the car. Reassembly of the interior is next and we should be able to pick up the car the beginning of this coming week. :)

I hope that you guys get a smaller pulley from Techco than the ones they're supplying in the 5.7/6.1 kits.

Any plans on how you're going to provide enough fuel at WOT?

Working with Carlos at Techco on the s/c issues. Twin walbro 255's for providing ample fuel. Lisa at BMC can provide more details.

That's what I was told. So I'm waiting for the result from using your car to test. In meantime I'm having a custom clutch build, as well as a driveshaft and half-axles ect.,ect. ect. I'm sure you know how it goes from one issue to the next. It is all about haviong a stout complete package IMHO. I'm excited about everything that is happening already!

This project will be completed for sure. But it's taking time for custom parts to get done. For example we are putting dual walbro 255's for fuel but we want them in tank for safety purposes. We are having a purpose build clutch to handle this power. We are using a different supplier for half-shafts, ect. All takes time. I would love to be ready to make some passes by the end of March but only time will tell. I can guarantee there will be some interesting developements as we progress!

I am picking up the car first thing tomorrow morning (and dropping mine off for a 5-point cage), so I'll take some completed pics when I get back to the shop.
