Received info via email today. In case anyone is interested. http://www.racewaypark.com/news/2008/pinks2008.html PINKS ALL OUT REGISTRATION INFO JULY 25-26 2008 1. This will be a muffled event-NO EXCEPTIONS! You must have "real" mufflers with baffles. No bullet type mufflers will be accepted. 2. All NHRA rules will apply and will be enforced. Remember you must have all of your proper safety equipment, driver credentials, chassis certifications, etc. in order to participate at this event. 3. No employees, their families, sponsors, track officials, race coordinators, etc. are eligible to be chosen to race for the $10,000 and the pinks all out run-off. No special treatment will be made to anyone. Please don't ask. 4. The racer registration process will be open to the public on Sunday January 6, 2008 at 12:01am. It will be done via a special e-mail address that will be announced to the public on or about December 26, 2008 at the official track website www.racewaypark.com, look for the pinks all out logo. All e-mails sent prior 1/6/08 @12:01am will be deleted from the process. The special e-mail address is for racer registration only. No questions will be answered. 5. All racer registrants will be taken in time order as shown on the e-mail clock. They will be numbered 1-400. The next group of 401-500 will be considered alternates. 6. All of the first group of registrants, 1-400, will receive a "phone call" from the Raceway Park Tech staff to go over all of the muffler and NHRA safety rules that will apply on July 25-26. Once we feel that you are good to participate in pinks all out, you will be invited to do so. You will still have to pass a driver and vehicle inspection once you get to Raceway Park. 7. There will be mandatory information that you will have to include in your e-mail on 1/6/08. This includes full name, full address, at least 1 daytime phone #, 2 would be better. Year, make, and model of vehicle. Best ET, best MPH. If you can't fill out all of the information, you will not receive a phone call. If you can't pass the phone interview, you cannot participate on 7/25-26. 8. Do not call Raceway Park to see if you are in once registration is complete. We will let you know via a phone call sometime in January. Please, do not call us to ask. This will only slow down the process. All Racer Tech Questions can be emailed to [email protected]. Spectator tickets will be available at the gate the day of the event.
Man that would be cool. Unfortunately, I've never seen them race cars as slow as us. Usually they're running somewhere between 9.0 and 10.0 second cars. It'd be fun just to be there for a day though.
Yea, but they are speacifically stating "This will be a muffled event-NO EXCEPTIONS" which makes me think they want to draw from a larger pool.
Good point. How fast do people go in "muffled cars"? Maybe a 12.0 second class? I suppose anyone with an actual roll bar (11.499) or roll cage (10.999) probably doesn't have real mufflers.
Please who ever is near there go. I would love to see some SRT cars trucks and Jeeps on the show that would be killer!!
Are you kidding? I live in Indy, and if there's a chance they'll race slower than 11.50, I'm trying to sign up. The episode tonight ran 10.8's.
I am sure they will run any class as long as it has the largest closely matched group of cars. By the way where in Indy are you I used to live there.
West side. I live about 3 miles from Indianapolis Raceway Park, home of the U.S. Nationals (now know as O'Reilly Raceway Park). I can have my car at 10.9 by June easily. The problem is getting it NHRA legal. Today my wife uttered the following sentence: "You aren't putting a roll cage in the SRT-8 yet, are you?" I like to focus on the words "yet" and "are you," as they weren't "no f@#$in way."
I went to Cathedral high school we lived near there in a neighborhood called Avalon Hills. I hope you are able to sell the wife on the cage and get your car in the 10's. My buddy just had the same problem with his wife when he had to put a cage in his daily driven Cobra. Will be killer to see you on Pinks!!! Good luck
I will be registering for this.......if the car is ready in time will be another question, and the cage is going in at the end of January.Hopefully looking for the 10.5 index.
Well.....I got my registration in at 12:03am......anyone else?I know they got all the registrations in by 12:41am,and closed registration. Now I just gotta wait and see if they call for the phone interview.
As soon as I saw this thread pop back up I had a sick feeling. Dang it - I missed the night for registering. Oh well - I won't have a roll cage, and there's no way they run an 11.50 class. Hopefully you'll be in!!! Your best hope is a 10.50 or an 11.00 class. Can't wait to see how this works out.
They will run whatever they have the most of........and the fact that is a FULL MUFFLED event says to me you might see a lot of 11 sec cars.......won't matter cause I'll be quicker than that by then anyway
Yes - there'll be a lot of muffled cars in the 10.50 to 11.50 range. Don't know if they'll get a big class of cars faster than that with mufflers. Just adjust your nitrous shot to what you see in the parking lot. I think your car has a great shot. They've not seen a modern LX on Pinks before to my knowledge.
They're coming to Bandimere this summer too. But how does it being a "muffled event' affect owners of SRT-4s, who have no mufflers from the factory, and many of which chose to stay muffler-less with aftermarket exhaust? I guess just SOL.
