First Report of the Techco Twinscrew Blower

Today makes a complete week I have had the ride back, 300 plus miles and no turning back.. First major test, I filled up yesterday morning and drove 40 plus miles one way to work. Then I drove home and off to Inglewood. Total was 87 miles and I still had more than 3/4 of a tank a gas.. This was with a little playing here and there.

This morning I had to go to downtown LA for a traffic ticket and then to work, with minor traffic and another round trip I have completed 175.4 miles and I have a half a tank of gas left... This was with averaging speeds of 75 to 80 MPH.. Sometimes reaching tripple digits to get away from traffic..

I thought I had a tuning issue which turned out to be the ESP holding the car back.. After discussing this with Billy and John they advised me to turn off the ESP and let them know if that solved the problem... Well lo and behold, that was the problem.. The car feels much lighter and the exceleration is even better than what I dreamed of..

so jay, you just had to press and hold the esp button on the dash to fix the problem or tweak it with the hand held tuner???? just curious. i am a bit surprised at the gas milage. very cool!!! you must be stoked!!

This is good information Jay, I noticed when I have the ESP on and in manual shift the ESP light was flashing on & off even in third gear. I figure it's mostly the tires still not getting traction. If the streets ever dry out from all the fog up here lately, I will experiment more with the ESP off. I also reset the fan temps to what John had loaded in my predator, and the car runs a lot cooler now.

 

I am glad you like it, I brought this to John attention when I test drove the car on the 22nd and it was running at like 210 degrees... I asked him since I had the 180 t-sat to adjust the tune to run at cooler temps the car loves it too..

You should really like it and the car too....

 

Congrats Jay...dont you love S/C mileage...mine went up after the Vortech install...a side benefit for sure! More power and good mileage to boot!

 

Thanks Bro, and yes I love the fact that I can smash and get gone when I want too, but can cruise and still get great gas mileage... More details to come as the report progresses...
