Test-n-tune on 12/31/08 from 12-4 for $50. Bracket drags on 1/1/09 from 8am-7pm $20-$50 depending on class (payout) Looks like good weather both days! I'll be there on 12/31 and maybe 1/1 if my car doesn't break and I think I can do better. Hope to see some of you guys there. I have a co-worker who many bring his new C63 AMG.
Sacto's not my fav place to go but that actually sounds kinda cool, we got friends coming over for the day tho, sorry Jeff, maybe next time. Hey post up your times tho!!
I like Infineon better too but at least Sacramento is closer to where I'd get my half shafts replaced I'll post my times unless the track gets fogged out like last time I was there.
Yeah I went and it was awesome. Unfortunately only ran the 1/8th mile but did some calcs and came up with 11.96 (estimated) in the quarter on my best run. I learned a lot about running with drag radials and burnouts as I got like 10 plus runs as there were only 8 guys there. I got a 1.79 60' and it felt awesome. Here is a vid of a good launch although the burnout looks kinda crappy: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=49601167 Here is a vid taken w/ a hero camera mounted outside the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ284mymHSw I also went to Infineon yesterday. 1/8th mile again and the DA wasn't nearly as good as at Sac. Here is as nice vid of a run from there: http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c339/450rrjb/?action=view¤t=WEB_0012.flv Hey, if you are interested I'm going to Sac for a test-n-tune with another guy w/ a Charger RT on 1/24/09. It's a test-n-tune again. I'm sure you'd see the 12s as the weather should be good (unless it rains or we get fogged out again).
Nice Jeff but wait, I thought Infineon was done till the spring, they're still running an open track??????? And why only 1/8 mile and not 1/4???
Infineon has bracket drags several days in Jan and Feb. Next one is 1/19/09 (Monday Martin Luther King's b-day). I'll be there. I was actually the first drag racing win of '09 at Infineon (or so I was told) 1/8th mile because the track was too cold (below freezing) to run 1/4 mile safely. They said the track needs to be heated up to 50* before the allow 1/4 mile runs. Once they started running at 8am w/ the 1/8th mile they didn't want to change. A guy who goes regular told me they only do the 1/8th mile maybe once a year due to weather. In other news I found out from a guy I know who runs an exhaust/performance shop that they will be opening up a motorsports park with 1/8th mile dragstrip at Alameda Naval Air Station pretty soon (papers are already signed). They will go to 1/4 mile after everthing works out.
