so.... Two questions here....or more like...i'd like some opinions.... First....is an SRT question.... I currently "lease" the SRT8 for this very reason...now that the market SUCKS i can lowball their ass's and get my car for a better price then i otherwise would have back when i got it. so now the time has come for me to "purchase" the car and i would like your thoughts on what I should be paying for it. The car is an 07 SRT8 Charger and its got roughly 12,000 miles on it. All Options. Second....is a truck question.... So I am gonna go into my dealer and make an offer i would approve of on a 2009 Ram...heres the one im lookin at The sticker is $47,460.... I am thinking of going in and saying that with the trade in on my truck ill give them $25,000 For what its worth Kelly Blue Book gives the trade in on my truck $13,000...ill assume 10k giving me a total offer of 35kish for the truck.... what do ya think? 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Truck Short Crew Cab Options 1-Year SIRIUS Realtime Traffic Service California Emissions Class IV Receiver Hitch Dual Rear Exhaust (NER) Electric Shift On Demand Transfer Case Electronically Controlled Throttle Engine: 5.7L V8 HEMI MDS VCT (Discontinued) For More Info, Call 888-539-7474 Front Suspension Skid Plate Heavy Duty Engine Cooling Hemi Badge Monotone Paint Next Generation Engine Controller ParkSense Rear Park Assist System Power Sunroof Protection Group Quick Order Package 26H Laramie (Discontinued) Radio: AM/FM/CD/DVD/HDD/MP3 w/NAV SIRIUS Satellite Traffic Tip Start Tow Hooks Transfer Case Skid Plate Shield Transmission: 5-Speed Automatic (545RFE) UConnect Hands-Free Communication Under Rail Box Bedliner Features ENTERTAINMENT FEATURES Speakers: 10 Internal memory capacity (GB): 30 GB Steering wheel mounted audio controls 1st row LCD monitors: 1 CD player MP3 capability Radio data system Wireless connectivity Entertainment system AM/FM radio DVD-Audio SEATS AND TRIM Power passenger seat Rear seat center armrest Leather steering wheel Power driver seat Front seats: bench Front center armrest: w/storage Split folding rear seat Leather upholstery Heated front seats Rear seats: split-bench Max seating capacity: 6 WARRANTYCorrosion perforation warranty: 60 months/100,000miles Basic warranty: 36 months/36,000miles Roadside assistance coverage: 36 months/36,000miles Powertrain warranty: unlimited months/ unlimited distance CONVENIENCE FEATURES Heated steering wheel Pedal memoryFront cupholders Auto-dimming rearview mirror Passenger door bin Remote keyless entry Passenger vanity mirror Driver vanity mirror Overhead console Audio memory Memory seat Automatic temperature control Illuminated entryPower moonroof Speed controlDriver door bin Voice recorder Garage door transmitter: HomeLink Adjustable pedals Power windows Navigation system Rear cupholders1-touch down1-touch up Air conditioning Front dual zone A/C Tilt steering wheel Rear door bins BODY EXTERIOR Bedliner Power door mirrors Left rear passenger door: conventional Rear step bumper Turn signal indicator mirrors Trailer hitch receiver Bumpers: chrome Two-tone paint Heated door mirrors Right rear passenger: conventional Skid plates Door mirrors: chrome LIGHTING, VISIBILITY AND INSTRUMENTATION Front reading lights Front fog lights Low tire pressure warning Delay-off headlights Outside temperature display Fully automatic headlights Oil pressure gauge Reverse sensing system Tachometer Trip computer Variably intermittent wipers Voltmeter Compass SAFETY AND SECURITY Brake assist Overhead airbag Ignition disable Electronic stability Dual front impact airbags ABS brakes Perimeter/approach lights Panic alarm Security system4 wheel disc brakes Traction control Tech Specs POWERTRAIN Cylinder deactivation Torque: 407 lb.-ft. @ 4,000RPM Engine liters: 5.7Cylinder configuration: V-8 Variable valve control Fuel economy highway: 20mpgManual-shift auto Sequential multi-point fuel injection Variable intake manifold Number of valves: 16Transmission: multi-speed automatic Recommended fuel: regular unleaded Horsepower: 390hp @ 5,600RPM Fuel economy city: 14mpg Fuel tank capacity: 26gal. I leased a car once back in the early 90's and I know that the Bank would NOT take anything less than what was deemed a fair value. Negotiate with a private bank first. If you can secure, say $25K (example), tell the dealership you will pay $22K cash and negotiate from there. As for the Truck, well Truck's are still an item "Sitting" on the lots. You might be better off trying to get a rock bottom price on an 08 rather than an 09? But then again, I LOVE the 09 model. WOW, what great changes. Good luck Steve.
They dont have any 08's on their lot that i know of...but this truck has been sitting there for about 2 months (in the show room )....I have been eying it up for a while haha what do you think there response would be to my offer...as in...is it even worth my time to go in and make it? "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" ??? hahahahaha i mean seriously how many people are going to even make an offer on a $47k truck at this point? haha
you have money invested n the CSRT8, if you enjoy it keep it, if not send it back. I can not offer insight on the truck, except I have a real issue of spending close to 50 for a TRUCK. It isn't like a lightning or SRT10 Ram, you have a truck that is built to work. But that is just me.
I am gonna keep the charger just looking into ideas for how much i should pay for it and the goal is to spend 25k on it haha....thats where my turcks trade in comes in....even taking the low low end of the trade in on my truck it should give me 10k on it since its in perfect condition and still pretty new.... I just cant allow myself to get all antsy and be like FUCK IT GIVE IT TO ME FOR 50K! cause i have a tendencey to do that lol I can say that up here and in upstate new york and in vermont where i spend a great deal of time, you need a good 4x4 or your F'ed in the A....i LOVE my truck and if they are like "uh you can have it for 30 plus your trade in" ill tell them to suck it cause ill just keep mine....its more of a well...its a shitty time for everyone, nobody can sell anything, they have an AWESOME freaking truck just sitting there with its thumb up its ass....why not if the price is right NICE!....worst thing they can do is say no...and its not like i NEED it right?
i totally want the truck for the heated seats and heated steering wheel... im sorry but thats just cool LOL
Try to make a deal by Dec 31....The dealer gets incentitives based on sales each year...they really will want to move as many vehicles as they can before Jan 1...........example..I bought my wife a 2006 Durango on Dec 31..sticker was $43K...I got it for $26K..............I think the 2009 truck has a $3K rebate.....but the dealer may be getting incentive money too....they were getting $8K on the 08s.....................BTW the 2009 Dodge Truck is the best truck I have ever driven..:thumb:
so im gonna hit the dealership tonight on the way home....and am gonna tell them my offer and say they have till tomorrow to decide....lets see if i can get it haha
My sister-in-law sells cars at a Lincoln-Mercury dealership here in Central Ohio. She just sold a 2007 Charger SRT8 (I know that it did not have the rear DVD or Kicker option but I think it had everything else) with 17k miles for $26,500. I think that the going price on the 06-07 SRT8s is between $22-28,000. I do not think that you are out of line looking to pay $25,000 for it.
