Just glad my car's paid for. Making plans to save up for a Challenger when I finish school. And contemplating if there's another vehicle I can stomach buying if there are no more new Mopars.
Ummm....I think Chrysler *NORMALLY* closes up shop for 3-4 weeks at the end of the year. I guess making it public looks good.
Actually they close every year for about 2 weeks as stated in the article....but this is a smart move on Chrysler's part....why build inventory when nothing is selling?....probably wouldnt hurt to close for 2 months....the employees get partial wages plus state unemployment...
The article is from CNN, so I didn't read it. Why not? Because if the past is any indication, it's about 37% truth/factual, 11% pixie dust, 4% Barbarella, and 48% complete conjecture. I did my own news gathering and spoke with an actual, currently-employed, veteran Chrysler employee today.
Chrysler closes for 2 weeks so they added 2 weeks and Ford also closes for 2 weeks and they added 1 week to it. I agree with Larry if your not sellin em why build em...
If you offered me 95% pay to spend 4 weeks with my family....ill sign up 10 times out of 10....it would just be nicer if they knew they would have a job in a few months....
