In an attempt to find a classy yet functional catch can holder, I collaborated with my machinist buddy (Tracy Herget) and came up with this design. Our catch can bracket is made out of 7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum. We adapted the AMW catch can holder to it and found a suitable spot to bolt it. This way the catch can is away from heat and allows easy access. We can make them for any catch can if your interested. The polished AMW catch bracket will sell for around $40.00. Any custom design can be machined in the body if desired.
C'mon Steve, when are you going to get an LX so we can get some of the good stuff? Mine's made from that bendable, Orchard Supply strap aluminum crap that they use for window casings... lol
Well...see .....for a few bucks more you could have mine!!! I dont know. I imagine they have to be close. The round braket part came with my AMW catch can. I need to go look at one. .
Dang... you know, I think that's positioned real close to where mine is (maybe the exact same spot). I'm using that same hole for one end of the bracket and the other end on that unused stud off the housing. Have you fit that on an LX yet? Can't see why it would be any different. Any problem torqueing that bolt into the block enough to keep it from moving?
Dave, I built mine over a year ago. I had a mild problem with the bracket moving, but I put a start washer under it and it's a rock.
The bolt hole has a shoulder half way around it. The bracket (bottom part) fits into that shoulder so it fits flush into the head. I havent tried it on my 300 but it is next. The metric stainless bolt with the end fit into the shoulder.....fits like a glove!!! HOLY CRAP!!!! Cam you do things BIG!! You could hold up the transmission with that bracket!!!! LOL!!! .
