What type of kit is best on our CSRT8s? Wet or dry? I will one day add a turbo or S/C, if that matters. Also, I want a 150 shot min.

    Thanks!

WET is the only way to go my friend. Zex is th emost used kit on the lx's. I would look in to them I think BMC has them for around 600 new. Then you need to buy a bottle heater purge, blowdown tube and fuel safty thingy. The turbo will love the spray but when you go F/I I would stroker your lower end and make sure you get GOOD pistons not the everyday 426 ones

You don't really have to stroke the bottom end just forge it (this is probably what you meant). You only want to change to forged rods and pistons, the crank is already forged. This will save you a little money if you stay 6.1. It will make better than stock HP due to blueprinting during build. Then use better heads, cam and boost or spray a big shot for big HP. Oh yea.....watch the half shafts....you might as well as plan on a HD set.

    John has told you correctly.

Deacon, my S/C kit will be going up for sale very soon. I will be asking $3K firm for the kit.

As far as N20 goes there are a few kits that are plug and play for our cars...Zex, Edelbrock, NX etc...
    here are some links.
    Zex:

    Edelbrock:

Lots of Supercharger options as well! If you plan on doing both you will definitely want to build the bottom end...however low boost and a good tune w forced induction will hold up well...the same goes for N20...but if you want to do both forging is definitely in the cards.

He wants to put a supercharger or a turbo on top fo the nitrous I would go to a bigger motor while your at the forging part. If your goign to spend that much money why not? look at rubbels build Super overkill! Talk to as many people as possible before you buy any thing. I hav emade that mistake many many times.

I would make a suggestion if you are just now getting into adding PA's to your car.

A forum member is making some kick ass 12v Switched power distrubtion blocks for us that are outstanding for wiring up Spray, AF Widebands and the like, here is a link, she whould have the first production unit done monday or tuesday next week.

Also something else to think about is a Compressed Air Push system for the Nitrous. If you would like some more info on those please feel free to drop me a PM.

I still think that forging the 6.1 is FAR chesper than any bore or bore/stroke kit, by about $2K in prts alone.
And if you are putting boost with Nitrous you will have HP and TQ so save bottom end money and just forge the 6.1L.
Hemi31's magnum was biult on a forged 6.1 and I believe the new owner hit 10's or at least very low 11's and the car is NA !

    Thanks for the info Rob!

1Bad, I love you man! I SCed my Cobra so I have to move on to other things. (ATI ProCharger) It will either be a twin screw SC or a Turbo.

direct port wet, stock bottomed do not go higher than 75 shot (this is standard for any car)

You can argue with me all you want, you go higher you are just buying time.

Before considering stroking out your motor, learn what it does for your car, and if that is the direction you really want to go. I have driven 2 stroked cars, with 3 separate motors. (modular and pushrod)

Like said before most times you can just throw in pistons and rods and you are good to go, however if a stroker fits your plan for the car its not a bad investment. When you start moving forward on swapping internals, again think about where you want the car to be, do your research so you can get the proper design of piston. This is not the time to skimp or rush your research.
