Well I have a MPX dual pod A pillar I got last year. (Borat start)"Its very nice!"(Borat end) Well its time to get some gauges! So I recently bought a Aeroforce Interceptor Scan Gauge V 2.5 off of eBay. I like! Not sure if I need to use this wire or not: and if so, they recommend an "Add a Circuit" made by Littlefuse available at car part stores for $10. So there is no need to splice any wires. If I even need it. Main wire that plugs into OBDII I have the directions but they are confusing so thats why I am asking someone who has one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, what would be another gauge to fill in the bottom hole on my dual pod? I am leaning towards a wideband. Thank you!
You don't need to use the extra harness. That is if you want to use the analog inputs (Analog 1 and Analog 2) which you can hook like the wideband to to read it off the Scangauge and datalog. I don't use it as my AEM Uego Wideband is paired up with the Scangauge on my dual pillar gauge pod. I suggest getting the AEM Uego Wideband. It will go great with the Scangauge and another perfect gauge to go hand and hand with the wideband when it comes to tuning. You plug in the harness with the OBDII cable to the gauge and that's it. By far the easiest gauge install. Like I stated the harness in your 3rd pic doesn't need to be used, that's just optional if you want to tie in a gauge to it like a wideband to datalog and see inputs on one gauge. Here's mine paired up:
OMG that is so sick!!! *splooge* Great color choice! Wish mine said SRT like yours does. How did you get yours made like that? I could of had the black display with the white lettering then I saw a night photo of the black lettering white face and it looked great. where did you get the face for the wideband? They are usually black with the yellow AEM logo. I am going to buy the AEM once I get all my cashback from live.com sent to my Paypal.. :bigwink:
Well I installed it today in the 20 degree coldness. Not too happy. The background is black and the lettering is white. When I ordered it I wanted white background and black lettering. Its not really that big of a deal. Curious to see what it looks like at night. when I turn the car on it doesn't say "SRT-4" It just says Aeroforce Interceptor on the start up screen. Yet again, not that big of a deal/ So much you can do with this little thing its mind boggling! So many choices.
Thanks! The gauge faces, those are actual decal overlays that go over the gauge original faces. PM slyder on here as he's the one that makes them or sells them. I think the color options is silver with black SRT logo like mine or black with silver SRT logo. You can change the colors of the gauge. You can "invert" colors the two colors. Like mine I can go from white background and black lettering to black background and white lettering. It has the option to do that. As for the start up screen I believe there's an option to change that as well.
Yeah I figured it out. I feel like a tard. I got the Mopar M logo! Words cannot describe how much I love this gauge, all the different things you can check out and monitor is great. Its basically like a scan tool thats always hooked up. I noticed the boost is a little lower than my stock gauge. The VAC is dead on, but once I hit boost its different. My gauge says 14 spike but I only spike 12.4 according to the Interceptor. I am ons tock boost levels PCM control and it was around 22 degrees out with windchill. So that seems right. I wanna test out the 1/4 mile feature tomorrow!
Well, when I bought my car used in April of 07 the pirvate owner had just had the boost gauge replaced in January of 07 at the stealership. Nope, no tuning device.
You should consider hooking your wideband into the interceptor using the analog inputs. That would get your wideband a/f integrated for logging. I'm assuming you can log a few parameters of which one could be the wideband/analog input? That's definitely a big plus. Otherwise it's hard to match a separate a/f graph to your scan gauge log. ...just exactly where does that jump in a/f happen? Something like the Innovate LC-1 can be had without a display gauge. Wideband controller is in the end of the cable and you would run the analog out into the interceptor. Of course then you would have to figure out something else for that second hole. How about one of those rpm gauges that has the bright led shift light on the face?
Crap. Looks like it already has led shift indicators on the face. Have to think of something else for the second hole. EGT is about the only other wideband I can think of so the interceptor could take that as the second analog input. Don't know of any round remote-display radar detectors... Maybe you should get a second one http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Aeroforce-SRT4-gauge-demo_143967.htm
Thanks for the input. I personally don't know crap about gauges. I would like to use the analog input to wire in a wideband. I hear they are in the making of one, but no luck thus far. Wearing about AFR's right now is the lease of my concern since I am running full ECU levels ont he stock WGA and vacuum lines. But I plan on rasing the boost int he future.. Just trying to get my car ready. I was thinking about getting the dual unit, but nah a bit too pricey. I could always setup to cyclic mode and see up to 8 parameters. I am going to look into other options and see what I can do with those analog outputs... Oil pressure and a wideband is what I can think of... Not sure when there is a jump in AFR. Looking at my dyno graph from a year ago it looks like it starts to lean out after 3500 rpm's. I already have an EGT reading. Exhaust Gas Temp right? Yeah got that. I did the "performance test" on a backroad out here in Gardner with some loose gravel LOL. Road also has a slight incline and I am on my winter tires. Granny shifting FTW! I just had to try it out! 0-60 = 6.19 sec 1/4 mile time= 14.11 @101 1/8 mile time = 9.16 @ 81. Seems pretty accurate knowing the conditions. Scary going that fast on a backroad. Wasn't the smartest thing to do either.
Stock boost gauge sucks and its giving you an incorrect reading. If you had a tuning device like a SAFC, then I can see you have a difference between the boost gauge and scangauge. The Scangauge calculates EGT and is about 100 degrees off between an actual EGT gauge and what the Scangauge reads. You can definately tie in the wideband to one of the Scangauge analog inputs for datalogging. I don't datalog so I never tied mine in. These cars lean out around 3500 or so then richen back up around 5000. There's a slop, I see it when I go WOT and I've seen it on my dyno sheet.
The three wire combo is for the analog inputs on the scangauge, you don't need it. If you want, just buy an AEM wideband and hook the green wire on the Aeroforce to the white wire on the AEM (which is a 0-5v output). Then go to the main menu of the aeroforce gauge and scroll down to "analog1" and enter your slope and intercept of 2 and 10 (this will make it read actual AFRs and not just raw voltage). Now you can record your AFRs right on your scangauge. Thats what I did I thought it was pretty cool.
? - I have the scanguage and Justin @ JMB Performance bought some Diablo Sport Tuners and we checked knock with both. Diablo showed 0-.9 knock and scanguage showed 6 wtf? Anyone ever test this? I asked around and as far as everyone told me the Diablo is the best sample'n device by far. It samples faster and more accurate than any others on the market. I do notice everything else on the scanguage is accurate, as far as I can tell.
